Ok the vacating will be because of one of Cal's players, does it really make a difference? It will happen under Cal's watch just like it happened at Memphis and UMASS.

Nothing irks me. People hate because a team is good. Not many people hate on teams like Depaul, Colorado, Northwestern, Wash St, etc. It's good to be hated cause that means you are good.

I do too the first time, but as I said a while back on here in a thread I started, at what point does it become Cal's responsibility to know? I mean it's happened twice, so at what point is he responsible, surely there is a point?

What really bothers me is the way they try to trash coach Cal with no facts what so ever and present them as the truth ie. the UMASS/Camby situation. The fact is that Pitino will die of veneral disease before UK goes on probation or has to vacate a banner or wins because of violations by Cal.

UK knew exactly what they were getting with him. A guy who is a great recruiter, bends the rules, leaves, and the school goes on probation or has wins taken away for the time he served at said college.

What I hate the most about (some) UK haters is their inability to separate UK fans and realize that we are independent people capable of forming rational thoughts all on our own and that we aren't all sheep who dress the same, think the same, look the same, and act the same.

History, I don't know any fans who are OK with Calipari or anyone else coming in, bending the rules, leaving, and having the school stripped of their wins and put on probation. If you can find me someone that is gung-ho for that, I'd love to meet them.

Enough that UMASS was stripped of its final four apperance, and Memphis had their 30+ wins revoked. That bending. Two places-same head coach-I'll allow you to attempt to figure it out.

Put yourself in Barnhardt's role as UK AD-Tubby left because of the fans insistence on being a title contender, then he brings in what he thinks is a hot young BCG, but he doesn't politic properly around the commonwealth, fails to make the NCAA in year two and poof he is gone. Then, because of the great clamor to win and win now, Barnhardt reallly has no option, but to empty the checkbook for a great recruiter with a chequered past. The UK fans I know (sorry a generalization) were giddy with the hire and are to this day, because he brought in great recruits and made it to the Elite 8.

 

I am speaking for me, not you, and believe that this long draught in UK basketball greatness has made the average UK fan not be overly concerned about the "how" it is getting done, just that it is getting done.

I'm chilled... I wasn't necessarily talking about you, just in general. And that's what the thread was about. I don't like people assuming things about me because I just happen to cheer for a basketball team.
