To the Trinity fans... I didn't want to say I told you so. I believe the regional was the real championship game.

First, X deserved every bit of this victory. First half was even - second half they took it.

Second, the fake field goal was genius.

Third, I didn't see the "tip of the cap", but I could care less if it did or didn't happen.

Fourth, X played pretty poorly against both SK & Greenwood, but they were mistake-free and clicking on all cylinders last night.

Fifth, SK needs to show up at the big party more often before donning themselves #2. There were at least 6 teams better than them on the other side of the bracket last year, yet they were state runner-up - it all balances out.

Sixth, for the decade: T=7, X=2, H=1, NKY & Lex=0

Lastly, T & X are already 1 & 1a for 2010. Now let's play some basketball!

I think it is totally silly to argue who is #2. Who cares??? It's all about being #1. Congrats to the Tigers.

Really? Simon Kenton making a claim of any kind even remotely suggesting that it is better than Trinity? Wow!

I am so happy for Coach G and this group of Tigers I said all year this team would not be denied and they sure proved me right! The defense was just outstanding the entire second half. I think the fake field goal was a great call, why risk the block and too long to go for it. I guess I am spoiled or getting old but I sure like Louisville better than BG and the central time zone. Congratulations St.Xavier Tigers 2009 State Champions!

side note......I was fortunate to talk to Coach Kragthorpe last night, for about 2 hours....we just stood there and chatted for most of the entire game....it was great to see him in better spirits, and the amount of people that came up to him to wish him well, was very cool.....of course it's gut wrenching to watch a man, watching his son, battle and not doing well....all the while keeping his composure. That said, he extended an invite to go visit in Tulsa next year, and we just might!!!!!

 

I hope that he and his son leave with good memories overall of Louisville. I understand the T community was very supportive of Brad thruout.

It was a complete joke...while I do agree that it's our job to stop the other team, it's a complete an udder joke, what Glaser did....if you want to run it up....man up and be that way....a fake FG with that time left....what a clown....enjoy your day Mike......it's our time starting in January...

Let's say X decides to go for it rather than kick the FG, and they come out and run it straight up the middle. They do not make it and all T posters are talking about what a bad coaching decision it was. Well, X ( Coach Glaser) does decide to go for it, but, uses deception rather than lining up to run, Outcome is a touchdown because Mr. Beatty got outcoached. Live with it, it happens and will happen again. Coach beatty is a high school coach, NOT VINCE LOMBARDI> He got tricked just like he has tricked others in the past and has been applauded for it as a genius. This game, the ST. I didn't come away feeling that he was out coached.....out manned? Absolutely...but X did nothing that they don't normally do against us....they were just better.....thankfully that appears to be changing back in the near future.

Coach Glasers birthday was Friday. What a wonderful gift from his football team. We love you Coach Glaser. You are derfinitly a class act.

 

One would question this after the taunting gesture last night along with the multiple comments in the past about having the "best team" even when X couldn't win the title.

 

I'm sure his players love him but they do on most of the other successful teams.

 

A truer measure is how he represents his school to the outside world and he has been lacking a bit in this department over the past few years with exampes of questionable comments/gestures both when he wins or loses?

 

Since this by no means is a reflection on the X kids I do believe they deserve congratulations!

If you don't think that SK was better than Trinity THIS SEASON than you either have not seen both teams play, or you are not objective. Obviously St. X was better than both. However, any 6A team with that many sophmores and a freshman starting is obviously rebuilding.

WOW! Didn't realize so many people watch Coach Glaser in stead of their team. Must be one great person / coach.

It's hard not to see the coach when he is 10-15 yards out on the field, holding his white hat at arms length above his head.

Again, kudos to X. They are the champs this year---no doubt.

However, Coach Glaser's taunting reaction was defintely not necessary and not indicative of the values St. X professes to teach.

Talked to a couple of St. X families ater mass this morning. While they were elated on the win, each family, one of whom has "close" ties to him, apologized for Glaser's actions.
