Always a bittersweet time of year for papa. Football is and will always be #1 for me. Only 8 months until August!

Congrats to Coach Glaser, his staff, and TEAM. Way to go!

I have a feeling that it will be remembered next fall when these two meet again.

 

Congrats to the Tigers. Enjoy it, you earned it and deserve it.

 

Is there anything that could ever be done by either team that would create more motivation in a St. X/Trinity game? The emotion and motivation whenever these two meet is at the max, so any possible slight or insult can not add motivation.

To bad that the state finals failed to match-up the two best teams in 6A!

Congrats to X. No excuses from here. I said earlier this season that HHS was the best team in Ky this year. After last night I am changing my mind. Enjoy your victory. You earned it.

Does it really matter when the teams played? Does it make a difference if St X beat Trinity last week and Simon Kenton this week? Of course SK would have loved to be in the final but St. X. beat the next two best teams in the state so the order St. X. beat them only matters to those who want to put runnerup on a T shirt.

 

On the other hand, it would have been nice to see SK play Trinity and see if someone could beat one of the Louisville duos to get to the title game.

No it does not really matter, IMO. But it really matters to the Louisville fans that the two best meet in the finals. Of course they think it must be a X vs. T match-up in the finals. Last year following the finals and all the way up to this years finals that is all they talk about getting the two best in the championship game.

 

I was definitely being sarcastic based on past comments from the Louisville faithful.

After the fake field goal TD I saw Coach Glaser race onto the field, take his hat off of his head and raise it, as if to tip it, all the while looking specifically in the direction of Coach Beatty and the THS sideline. I agree that THS never needs additional motivation to prepare for a game against STX, but I do believe that Coach Glaser's gesture was not what you would expect from the head coach at St X. Whatever.

I was one of the fortunate thousand or so fans who made their way onto the field last night following the St. X. win. People get on here and take an instant in a game they are spectators at and try and interpret someone's body language or comment to prove a point.

There were hundreds of fans around the St. X. team listening as Coach Glaser addressed his team as Champions. He said that when they look in the mirror when they get home they will see themselves as 2009 State Champions. What concerns him the more is that in the next 5, 10 or 20 years he wants them to see a "Life Champion" whenever they look in a mirror. He said that if anyone of his players ever needed anything down the road he and his assistant coaches would always be there for them.

 

That is the essence of St. X. football and Coach Glaser. The dads who have sons that played for Coach Glaser know this about him. He has a true love and passion for all his players today and those he has coached in his 28 years. Great dominating win Tigers!

Congratulations to the St. X Tigers from Ryle (and we're proud to have scored more points against you than Trinity!) You had a mighty and deserving team this year!

 

From what I witnessed, the two best and most explosive 6A teams played at St. X on 11/20.

I would estimate the actual attendance at around 7,000.

You could argue that the fake field goal was a necesary play (X up by 18 with 4:54 to go--after the play was over) and I do not complain about it. However, Coach Glaser's taunting reaction was defintely not necessary and not indicative of the values St. X professes to teach.

Did any one see how St. X's Coach walked to the hash line and tipped his hat to the Trinity sideline after the fake field goal attempt??? Did anyone else think that that was a little low class??

Trinity scored on a gadget play, I just saw that as St.X doing it right back at us.

T has upset X so many times in the Title game, one almost comes to expect it. Not this time, however.
