Would it also be a "flawed system" if the Yankees and Mets met in the world Series?

 

If the two best teams are from the same area, why shouldn't they play for the championship? Everyone, if honest, has known for a long time that the two best teams in the Commonwealth are/were Trinity and St. Xavier. The true championship game was last week and not last night. The result last night should have surprised no one and we all know that it could have been worse.

 

It is one thing to insist on a non-Louisville public in the championship game. However, don't expect a different outcome than what you got.

 

As for the "take a knee" brigade, I believe your frustration over the end result of the game has led you to produce a particularly bitter batch of sour grapes.

 

Trying to compare MLB to high school football is a joke. MLB has definitive leagues that don't change. You set up distinct regions and stick with it. You don't change things around to accomodate, at the time, the two best teams in the state. If MLB did the same, they would move the Yankees or Red Sox over to the National League just so the likelihood of the championship contains those two teams. When you do that, that is a flawed system. You don't change this around to accomodate the hot teams so you can fatten your pocketbook, which is what the KHSAA does when they put St. X and Trinity on different sides of the bracket. You don't see the OHSAA changing things each year to have two Cincinnati schools on opposite sides of the bracket, which traditionally have the top 2 teams in the state. I have nothing against Trinity or St. X playing in 6A unlike many others. I just think the way the KHSAA handles their playoff system is wrong.

Congrats to the entire Trinity family on another fantastic season. To have a 4-peat and bringing home #19 is an accomplishment we can cherish forever. I am so proud and thankful to be a part of it all. The tradition continues.

It was the best possible game. Trinity or St X was 50 points better than any NKY team not named Highlands. That's your flawed system right there.

Actually I was sitting in the third row not far from the action and I DID hear our student section do that. I was thought it was very tasteless on the part of the students to do that.

 

If our kids did it then I apologize for calling someone a liar but I didn't hear it. I also note that someone else pointed out that our administration stopped it quickly as they should have.

 

BUT I still see no problem whatsoever with the behavior of the Trinity player during the injury timeout. The kids on the sideline did take a knee and the players in the game were being coached. There was no disrespect nor was there and malice directed towards the injured player. The people complaining about this are just looking for something to complain about IMVHO.

Congratulations to Trinity. The video posted on the CJ web site sums up Coach Beatty's approach. It is great to watch.

Congrats also to SK for their fine season and making it to the Final. I enjoyed seeing those kids get off their buses and start snapping photos. I left late and if not mistaken the SK buses were still there (long after the place had emptied out) and some of the team may have been back out on the field. Still drinking in the atomsphere.

 

Also thought it was very cool when Timmy (alone) made his way into the SK team and apparently was welcomed with "open arms." Very classy - on both parts.[i.e. -see the "Team Photo."]

 

Sorry for the idiotic few who acted inappropriately and boorish when the qb went down. Uncalled for and they do not represent the vast majority of the T family.

 

Lastly, have been waiting patiently for the SK faithful who were the "smack talkers" all week to be on here today - but to no avail. Just what I thought.

They were very free with the comments, predictions of a monutmental upset, and overall disregard they showed to the Rocks. No where to be found today.

I was discussing the 48-0 ballgame. Please read my entire post. But maybe your screen name explains why you are only paying attention to the things that were negative on my post.These things that I will remember about my weekend in Louisville. I had no "dog in the fight" either days. I am just a huge football fan. I am not taking anything personal. It appears that I am not the only one that heard negative things from Rock fans. Even Rock fans said they heard some and it is unfortunate. We have some fans like that where I am from. I do ask them to show respect for the kids and the game even if they cant show it for themselves.

I understand what you are saying. You oppose having the two best teams reach the championship. I suppose that is fine but you will end up with a lot of 48-0 games (and worse) all for the sake of "inclusion of lessers".

When is T/X playing the big four from Cincinnati? I know they have problems getting competitive games . Highlands tries to play one of them every year, but I dont see the teams from X/T on there schedules.
