I think the playoff runs have been plenty even as well.

If Central wins this one, it is safe to say their scheduling paid off. Otherwise, they passed up an opportunity to win 9 or 10 games this year in the regular season.

I love Central's schedule. As a Belfry fan, I would LOVE to play bigtime OOD teams like that.

 

I would have been happy to see East Carter, Shelby Valley, and Lawrence Co. replaced with 3 better opponents, even if it would have resulted in losses.

You've discounted the Johnson Central loss all year...no need to throw it out there now.

 

That's what I was thinking....I have no dog in this fight, but it seems that the Johnson Central loss can't be used both ways.

Certainly would be fun for the Belfry faithful, until injuries increase and you head into the playoffs banged up.

 

If you can avoid injury, its more fun to play and watch a game if the outcome isn't nearly a forgone conclusion.

 

BHS has a weak district. I would also say the number of good teams willing to come up to BHS and play is limited.

 

How many folks want to ride a yellow hound for 3 hours to get it handed to them, even if they could win.....not many.

 

BHS and Highlands could hook up for a two year deal sometime, but that is a long haul for a regular season game.

I have a questing about Louisville Central. How are they playing in class 3A with right at 1000 students in their school. That is what some 5A schools have.

 

It's called playing up. Some of the 5A schools really are 3A like Highlands. They chose to play up and it's a good thing for these two teams that they did.

 

Here is my take on this game. I appreciate and understand that Belfry is a good team. But I am going to compare this to what our team went through in the playoffs. All these teams that came up here were supposed to give HHS a run for their money and "Hit them in the mouth." The only time our players were hit in the mouth is if they tripped and fell on top of one of their players. We ran the table in the playoffs. I just don't believe that Belfry has seen a team with the size, speed and talent of this Central team. I think if anything, they will be a little shell-shocked in the the first quarter. That D-line will come right up and hit you in the mouth and stand you up if you don't look out. Ask our boys, they got beat on for 3 quarters.

The current alignment is based on boys only enrollment and not total enrollment. For some odd reason, Central has only 332 boys out of 1000 students, which is way below the norm. But according to KHSAA enrollment figures, Central has about 25 boys less than Belfry even though they have about 300 more students total.

Good points - mean no disrespect to Belfry and I am sure they have a fine team and program. I do not think it would be wise to fail to totally respect the 'Jackets and all they have accomplished.
