September 29, 200718 yr No, I've not been sweating it yet. 9 of those are against the D-Rays and 7 against the O's. They also get the last 6 at home. 27-15 doesn't sound like that much, but that means the Yankees would have to win at a .643 clip--the best winning percentage in baseball is .600. Anything is possible but I think the Sox go somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-17 the rest of the way. 21-21 Swax Could easily do this or a game or two under from here on out 27-15 Yanks Little toughter schedule but the Bombers could do this without too much of a stretch. Hey Joe have you been sweating a little? I'm not talking about the heat either :lol These two posts were made on August 15th. Since then the Sox have went 23-17........If they win their last two I hit their record right on the head. Even if they don't I will be very close.

September 30, 200718 yr The Red Sox defeated the Twins tonight 6-4 while the Tribe lost to the Royals 4-3. With the win the Red Sox have a one game lead for home field advantage throughout the playoffs but since they own the tiebreaker with the Indians the Red Sox will have the home field advantage as long as they remain in the playoffs through the World Series. Manny's back, Youk is back, Okinowaiwojima, Dice-K looked strong last night and even J.D. Drew has started hitting. The Sox aren't limping into the playoffs, they've really got it going right now--this should be an interesting postseason.
September 30, 200718 yr Any time ANY NY team misses out on something (and folks, the Yankees are still in the playoffs even if they couldn't quite catch the Sawx; a few hundred million here and a few hundred million there and pretty soon we're talking real money and talent), it's a good thing. I think the only time I ever felt compelled to root for a NY team (a true mental disorder; surely it's in the DSM somewhere) was when Phil Simms was QB for the Giants. And even then, one could rationalize that they played their games in Jersey.
