I am with Skip Bayless in that Manny is just being himself trying to prove how important he is to the Red Sox and will come back to save the day. Say what you want about Papi, but I contend the reason he is half as good as he is, it is because of Manny Ramirez. If the Sawx do lose the division, I would not necessarily call it a "collapse." I am sure it has changed by now, but going into the previous series against New York, the Yankees had the best record in the league since the All-Star break, the Red Sox had the second best record. It is not as if Boston has gone out and played .400 baseball the past two months. New York has been on extreme fire.

They may have attained enough of a lead, to hold of the Yankees. From this point on, a win/loss situation is huge, as that 1 game will be critical either way.
