Are The Red Sox Going To Lose The Division?

Featured Replies

On a side note, there should be a MLB rule that states the Sawx and Yanks MUST finish the season in a three game series against each other. It would be like extra playoff games...

Considering who is chasing them for the wild card spot, it is to the point now that either Boston or New York would have to lose virtually every game to miss the playoffs. They are both going to make it with one being the Wild Card.

2007 American League Wild Card

NY Yankees 88-64 .579

Detroit 83-70 .542

Seattle 81-70 .5366

Thanks and these will be excellent upcoming series, regardless of the teams or finish.

I still wonder, if Torre or Francona are secure.

...and if there weren't any playoff implications, there'd be 'message pitches' GALORE!!!

Yes they should :thumb:

WOW! He did have a beard...hm.

Completely agree with your first paragraph...:thumb:

Make no mistake about it, it won't be considered a "collapse", it will be considered the biggest choke job in MLB history...

Actually that happened in the 2004 ALCS!

3 game advantage or 14 1/2 games?

We have to remember that Manny being out, Kevin Youkilus is out. Unless he played last night. He was hit by that 90 MPH fastball on the wrist during the last Yankees BoSox series. That's not helping the boys from Beantown much, either.

Either way, both teams will make it to the playoffs.

14 games has been done before, 15 is the record. However, no baseball team has ever had a 3-0 lead and lost a playoff series except the Yankees--what was even worse is that they had the lead and 2 out in game 4.

So 04 was a fluke and 14 1/2 is a choke job...got it.:thumb:

No 04 was simply the greatest choke job in Major League History. But hey--at least its something that had never been done before. So you've got that going for you--which is nice.

I'll let the english language define that for you...

fluke /fluk/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[flook] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun 1. an accidental advantage; stroke of good luck: He got the job by a fluke.

2. an accident or chance happening.

3. an accidentally successful stroke, as in billiards.

Anything else? Good...
