August 31, 200719 yr If they meet in the playoffs, I don't even want to watch it because I have no faith in Boston when they play the Yankees in pressure situations...like last year when they had 5 games to make a move in the division and dropped them all. Other than coming from 3-0 down, have they ever had success against NY... I would say coming back 3-0 is a High-Pressure situation
August 31, 200719 yr I would say coming back 3-0 is a High-Pressure situation Exactly, which is why I mentioned it and asked if there are any other examples. Once in a century seems more like an aberration than anything else. Especially, when you consider what they did. That makes it all the more freak of nature-ish.
September 1, 200719 yr The Yankees missed a very good opportunity last night to gain ground on the BoSox and the Mariners. Sox and M's lost and the Yankees lose to T.B.. Everything reamins the same for now - 5 GB in the div. , 1 game up in the WC. (could have been 4 and 2 :irked: ) GO YANKEES!! :thumb:
September 1, 200719 yr No way. That's a joke and I question their credibility. Yeah, because we all know Clemens never throws at people....
September 1, 200719 yr Yeah, because we all know Clemens never throws at people.... Show me one time when Clemens purposely threw at someone's head and I'll never post on BGP again. Please...
September 2, 200719 yr Yankees win tonight, Mariners lose, Sox win behind a no no pitched by a rookie pitcher. Yankees are 2 up in the WC and remain 5 back in te East.
September 2, 200719 yr Show me one time when Clemens purposely threw at someone's head and I'll never post on BGP again. Please... I never said he told him to hit him in the head, only to throw at him.
September 2, 200719 yr Sox win behind a no no pitched by a rookie pitcher. Our pheonom is better than yours....
September 2, 200719 yr Show me one time when Clemens purposely threw at someone's head and I'll never post on BGP again. Please... NObody will ever have proof but I would never say that Clemens hasn't. he has buzzed too many people to say he hasn't.
September 2, 200719 yr NObody will ever have proof but I would never say that Clemens hasn't. he has buzzed too many people to say he hasn't. I think Sticky is also forgetting that Clemens drilled Piazza in the head, and then threw a bat at him.....Class act that Clemens guy is....
September 2, 200719 yr Red Sox take 2 out of 3 from the O's, behind great pitching from their two young guns, while the Yankees lose 2 of 3 to the DRays.....The Sox magic number is now at 20, and they have a 6 game lead with 25 left to play. Starting tomorrow the Yankees host Seattle for 3, the Mariners have lost 9 games in a row, yet still only find themselves 2 back in the WC. Seattle is due to put a few good games together. The Red Sox have the Blue Jays coming into town for 3, and will run the likes of DiceK, Beckett, and Schilling out.
September 4, 200719 yr Boston wins a wild one over the Jays 13-10. Yankees lose to Seattle 7-1. That pushes the Sox lead back up to 7 games with only 24 to play. Yankees have a 1 game lead over Seattle for the WC.
September 4, 200719 yr Boston wins a wild one over the Jays 13-10. Yankees lose to Seattle 7-1. That pushes the Sox lead back up to 7 games with only 24 to play. Yankees have a 1 game lead over Seattle for the WC. Seattle actually tied them in the loss column tonight which is what is most important this time of year. Also, Clemens and Mussina were hit hard again and the Rocket is going to have an MRI on his elbow tomorrow.......The magic number is now 18.
September 4, 200719 yr This has nothing to do with this thread but Torii Hunter will be a Yankee next season.
September 4, 200719 yr I am still picking the Yankees to take the WC. Winning the division was/is a long shot at best but I do think that the Yanks will be in the post season.
