Are The Red Sox Going To Lose The Division?

Featured Replies

If the Yanks aren't at least 1 game closer by the end of the weekend, they don't deserve the division.

Exact same spot they were in a week ago.....and with 7 less games to play.:sssh: :sssh: :D

Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.:D

What a series for the Yanks. Manny being out for Boston isn't going to help their cause.

Haven't we seen these posts about 5 times already? The only difference is now there's less than 30 games to go. The Red Sox still control their own destiny even if the Yankees sweep them at Fenway. I'm not hearing footsteps.

I agree and think that the Sox wil win the division, I also think that there is an outside chance of a major choke by the Sox.

Mariners lose tonight, Yankees 1 game up in the WC.

Boston has 18 of their last 28 at home.....They also play the likes of Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Toronto 6 times each. I see them going 16-12 at worst to end the season. That would mean the Yankees would have to go 21-7 just to tie. I don't see it happening.

Right you are but the Yanks are close enough to see and if the Sox spend to much time looking behind them the passing lane may soon appear.;)

I still think the Sox will win the division

:thumb: The Sox have a weak schedule remaining. I think they will be okay.

The Sox should still win, but with the history between the teams, it's possible the sweep could rattle the BoSox and catapult NY past them. When it comes to these two teams, you can throw "normal" out the window...what better way to erase the memory of blowing a 3-0 lead and allowing the Red Sox to win their first World Series in forever, than to erase a huge deficit the last month of the season and take the division...

It has to make a dent that everyone thought the Red Sox pitching would silence the Yanks bats. Didn't the Yanks just face their 1-2-3 pitchers? Not having Manny was huge but don't think that's not in the back of the Sawx' mind...
