August 15, 200719 yr 6-3 Baltimore... ManRam strikes out swinging to end the game. Runner on 2nd and 0 outs and they couldn't tie the game with their big bats. Surprises the crap out of me. I thought Youk, Big Papi or ManRam would've gotten it done... Youk has been absolutely awful since the All-Star break. His average has dropped below .300 for the 1st time all year.
August 15, 200719 yr O's win 6-3 in 10. If ever a team could be considered to have caught a break with a loss, today was that day for the Sox. You don't often see the Yanks tie a game up in that fashion and go on to lose. Sox have the 5 game lead with 42 to play.
August 15, 200719 yr Youk has been absolutely awful since the All-Star break. His average has dropped below .300 for the 1st time all year. .226 since the break. I know he came up with the reputation as "the Greek god of walks," but he's been taking too many strikes early in the count and having to hit pitcher's pitches.
August 15, 200719 yr 21-21 Swax Could easily do this or a game or two under from here on out 27-15 Yanks Little toughter schedule but the Bombers could do this without too much of a stretch. Hey Joe have you been sweating a little? I'm not talking about the heat either :lol
August 16, 200719 yr 21-21 Swax Could easily do this or a game or two under from here on out 27-15 Yanks Little toughter schedule but the Bombers could do this without too much of a stretch. Hey Joe have you been sweating a little? I'm not talking about the heat either :lol No, I've not been sweating it yet. 9 of those are against the D-Rays and 7 against the O's. They also get the last 6 at home. 27-15 doesn't sound like that much, but that means the Yankees would have to win at a .643 clip--the best winning percentage in baseball is .600. Anything is possible but I think the Sox go somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-17 the rest of the way.
August 16, 200719 yr Cano, Jeter and A-Rod to come up in the bottom of the 10th down 3... BTW, I can not wait until the next Yanks/Sawx series... This should be a great series. I also can't wait.
August 16, 200719 yr This is a very important part of the season. The next few weeks will tell alot. The Yanks have beaten up the lower performing teams except for sweeping the Indians. I don't think the Sox will loose the division, but I do believe the Yanks will be in the WC. :thumb: I agree.
August 19, 200719 yr Yankees win over the Tigers today, The Yanks will at worst stay at 5 games back of the Sox and .5 games back of the M's in the division depending on their games tonight. Could move to 4 back in the East and .5 game up in the WC.
August 19, 200719 yr BoSox come back from a 5-0 deficit to win 10-5 and maintain their 5 game lead in the East.
August 19, 200719 yr Mariners win as well last night, all remains the same. Yanks are 5 gb in the East and .5 gb in the WC.
August 19, 200719 yr Yankees win again today over Detroit to complete the sweep. Red Sox lose. Mariners win again as well. Yankees 4 GB of the Sox in the East and remain .5 GB out of the WC.
August 21, 200719 yr Wakefield continued his domination of the DRays as Boston won 6-0. The Yanks lost in 10 7-6 to the Angels, giving Boston a 5 game lead in the East and Seattle a 1.5 game lead in the WC.
August 22, 200719 yr Boston wins tonight 8-6, Mariners are up 7-2 in the 9th, and Yanks are trailing the Angels 7-1 in the 2nd inning. If things hold up, the Sox will have a 6 game lead in the East, and the Mariners will have a 2.5 game lead in the WC. 36 games remaining.....
