As some of you know - LSUROCK was a longtime - professional poster on BGP. He was great at stirring the pot over a long period of time. He loved the gamesmanship. As a Trinity supporter, I was the benefactor of his intelligence and facts. I came to know him and became lucky enough to be his friend. I think he would appreciate all of the wonderful comments posted so far.

 

I will always remember my friend when LSU plays. Rest in Peace my friend - Go Rocks!!!

Like everyone else, I was shocked and saddened to read this terrible news. I very much enjoyed the banter with LSU here on BluegrassPreps over the past 5+ years (wow). He was one of a kind, and even when my team was on the opposite side of the field from his, I couldn't help but respect and admire his devotion to Trinity HS. He will be missed. :cry:

LSU and I have had our battles on BGP (most of them behind the scenes) and the battles were not always pretty. However, I always considered LSU a friend. In person LSU was warm, genuine, magnetic, and just a great guy to hang out with. LSU always treated me like we had been friends all of our lives. LSU always (almost always) gave me the T scoop (and he always knew the scoop too), he always invited me to his place whenever I visited Trinity, and he always told me exactly where to park and how to navigate the campus. Most of all, LSU was the single biggest T fan I knew.

 

Dave (LSU) was a great guy, a true fan, and I will miss him.

LSU was a big part of teaching me what you would call "dropping the hammer".

 

He knew what he held dear, and he defended it tooth and nail. My kind of guy...

Was just asking about him yesterday. Terrible news. RIP, Rock.

I started and stopped writing this thread about six times.

 

I once told LSU that I always enjoyed his posts because they always gave me a reaction. He was one of those posters you always stopped to read.

 

I feel for his friends and family, as little as I knew him I truly will miss him, I can't imagine the loss they must feel.

Suddenly, the disagreements we had early on in my tenure with BGP seem completely irrelevant. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I'm curious to know the age of LSURock. I hope he lived his life to the fullest. And at this time I can only pray that his loved ones will celebrate his life and not become completely embellished with his passing (easier said then done).

 

I know that if I ever passed I wouldn't want anyone to be sad, but rather be happy for my life. It's (life) is a fragile thing. You can go at any second and you must be ready for that day because there is no way that you can avoid it.

 

So here's to Mr. LSURock! We know you are in a better place and we can only hope to join you in time.

Great post....and you can rest easy LSU lived every minute of life....and a lot of that revolved around the young men we root on day in and day out....LSU was a great, great man, no matter how polarizing he may have been :D/.
