LSURock's widow is deriving comfort from all of the heartfelt and moving posts on this thread. She said she appreciates respectful posts of many of his "combatants", e.g., Oxnard (although she says LSU might have considered them maudlin.) He had a tough exterior but he was a feeling man underneath. Of course, the posts from the Trinity supporters are very consoling as well. She says thanks to all.

Although we butted heads many times we always made peace with a PM. I will miss him and may God rest his soul.

The Rock/Male battles between us were so much fun. We both understood how you could care for a program, but respect each other also.

 

Our LSU/Bama topics were the same way. I was so much looking forward to this fall, and getting on him.

 

We've lost a friend.

 

I pray for his family and I wonder if his full name could be posted so I pray for him? God knows his name, and he knows his heart.

That would be the best idea.

This creates a large hole for the BGP family and Trinity High School that will not close for a very long time.

 

I pray for peace for LSURock's family. Peace of mind to know that he is in a better place than we are. Also, for all those who knew him and for those, like me, who were touched by him in his way, some positive, some not so positive, we are different people because of our contact with him, having known him or knowing of him.

 

His Passion for Trinity, the game of football and life itself was obviously enormous.

 

May the legend live on forever!

WOW....my son and I are on a trip in Wyoming and have learned the news of Dave's passing.....this is a big blow to all that knew him. I had the pleasure of interacting with him these last few years at many, many Trinity football practices and games.....he was fiercely loyal to the Green and White....but at the same time was respectful of other teams and their talents.....although that may not have come across at times in his passionate dissertations.

 

Not only did he support Trinity football but as many know Dave could be seen at almost any Trinity sports event. Football probably sat on top of the heap as we was an ex player who would have proably gladly strapped it up one more time given the chance. You would always find him walking the sidewalk at the old practice field or hanging on the fence at Marshall Stadium....he was at almost every single practice greeting the players as they came off of the field and many knew him as "Big Dave"....one of their single biggest fans.

 

RIP...Dave...we'll miss you....you may be physically gone but your spirit and passion will live on in the Trinity community forever!

My thoughts and prayers are with his family ,LSUrock was a great poster on BGP.. R.I.P :cry:
