In 5A, I think Wooford County should be in the district with Collins, Franklin County, Scott County, and Anderson County.  They are instead with East Jessamine, West Jessamine, Montgomery County, and Madison Southern.  Geographically is makes sense and is similar to the 8th Region alignment.

I like RPI a round earlier but the elephant in the room with RPI is addressing out of state games and until that is addressed RPI is subpar at best.

This was posted by Football of Kentucky on Facebook but is it crediting Jason Frakes with the CJ:

The realignment will affect seven schools in Louisville, with Kentucky Country Day (2A), Shawnee (3A), Christian Academy (4A), Doss (5A) and Fairdale (6A) all moving up in class. Western (2A) and DuBois (A) both will move down in class.

Fairdale is the only school moving up to Class 6A, a result of Hopkinsville no longer being in the class because of its consolidation with Christian County.

Other noteworthy programs that will move classes include Elizabethtown (4A to 3A), Lexington Christian (2A to 3A), Lexington Catholic (3A to 4A), Covington Catholic (4A to 5A) and Franklin County (4A to 5A).

The multiplier affects 16 private schools currently playing football in Kentucky and multiplies their boys enrollments by 1.35 for purposes of alignment.

For example, Christian Academy’s average boys enrollment of 305.5 would place the football team in Class 3A. But the multiplier of 1.35 makes the enrollment 412.4 and places CAL in 4A.

Moving Fairdale up to 6-A seems like punishing them  winning. Especially with X and Manual.

Probably wanted their to be some sort of parity. Having those three teams in the same district and knocking one out before third round would've sucked.

Basketball/Baseball district goes all the way east to Spencer County, football district goes all the way west to MOCO and south to Mad South. Some very impressive finagling.

Aligned to avoid all the 11th Region powers in every sport. Good to be connected, I guess.

That’s some serious connections.

I have never understood whey WoCo wasn’t in the 11th in Basketball. Now I do!!!?

Going from being the eastern-most school in district with 4 schools in Franklin county, to skipping over all of them and being in a district with spencer and the shelbys, incredible.

More on topic, they are closer to every single school in the 6th district than they are to MOCO and Mad South in their current 7th. Also, closer to two schools in the 6th district (Anderson and Franklin) than ANY OTHER SCHOOL in their current 7th district.

I agree with Dear Today that it has to be because of greater parity throughout the east region.

Region 5 Cooper/Cov Cath

Region 6 Scott County/Franklin County

Region 7 Woodford County

Region 8 Pulaski County

I think 3A is the most bizarre looking at these. I could come up with 3-4 much better configurations easily.

There are 13 other 3A schools closer to Glasgow than McCreary Central, who moves from district 8, to district 2.

McCreary Central's distance to opponents:

Casey County - 66 miles

Adair County - 74 miles

Hart County - 121 Miles

Glasgow - 106 miles

To my knowledge Glasgow has never played them but basically it seems like we swapped Edmonson or Butler for an equally weak team on the schedule but with Larue also leaving at least we will have room to add one more competitive non district game.

The KHSAA, and the BOC, are broken.

I propose, all involved would be better served if a consultant was hired by the KHSAA to determine how football alignment in the state should be developed.  This firm would decide how many classes were needed, how many teams would be in each class, and into what class each team would be placed.  Because, it's clear the system is either broken, or corrupt, or both.

Career opportunity for someone who would like to become a high school sports consultant.

Coach Arnett has the 27/28 schedule looking extremely competitive.

Seriously, for some, you work for years to build a winning program, a playoff program, a state championship contending program.  Then, after those years of work and a taste of great success, you are rewarded with moving to a larger class, where you will, likely, not have a shot at continued success.  Who thinks of this crap?
