I like RPI a round earlier but the elephant in the room with RPI is addressing out of state games and until that is addressed RPI is subpar at best.

Does anyone know if this meeting will be on their YouTube channel live today?  Or will be depended on updates coming from X as the meeting unfolds

Per the Herald-Leader, it's apparently a conference call meeting. So I'm not thinking there will be any direct insight to the discussion.

So am I inferring correctly that they are going to evidently be discussing 2 different options for multipliers? Because it looks to me like they're listing the A) the 2-year class average with the delta (change) based on the 2 year average, then B) the "Class-1" classification option using one version of a proposed multiplier, and then C) the "Class-2" classification option using what's evidently a different version of a proposed multiplier.

Nobody knows... It depends on who they want to make "happy" and who they "don't care". The problem started in 2006 when football lost June 7 on 7 and we went to 6 classes. It watered down everything. It's like buying your kid a new car. His first car a BMW and then you buy them a Corolla. They won't be happy.

I don't buy my kids cars but I've seen a friend go through this.

This should be a fun topic when the athletic directors meet next week at the state conference.

Add Boyle County to the multiplier while we're at it.

Quite honestly if they are going to do the multiplier's to private schools, then they should do the same for public schools for out of district students.

I kinda thought that all public schools had to allow out of district kids now after a law that passed in like 2021?  HB 563? "if they have room"

No that's just for programs that are successful! (Sarcasm intended)

Possibly, but that doesn’t change what I posted. If you are going to use multipliers for private schools, since they would have kids from outside that area. Then same should be used for public schools. As it is the same concept.

To me either you don’t do the multiplier at all, or if you do. Then you need to also use the same concept for public schools and out of district kids that attend their schools.

From looking at the agenda on the portal, they list this document about the "grouping" - https://portal.ksba.org/public/Meeting/Attachments/DisplayAttachment.aspx?AttachmentID=950614

I believe the Class-1 and Class-2 designations are related to that.  It appears the primary (only?) difference between the two is that they have 36 teams in 1A in the Class-2 designation, and allegedly only 32 in 1A in the Class-1 designation.  They advertise it as equivalent for the other classes in the Class-2 designation, but it isn't, it still has just 32 teams in 6A in that.  In the Class-1 designation, they claim it will be 32 in 1A, but their data has 34. But it is confirmation enough to me that this is likely what it is referring to because Class-2 designation in the data DOES have 36 teams.  Powell County is the only team that changes class only if Class-2 is adopted, and the additional teams in 1A appear to be why that happens, that it nudges up the numbers just enough to drop them from the smallest 3A to largest 2A.

I would guess perhaps they might pursue the second route due to the amount of times 1A schools drop out of district play, so they wanted to create a bit of a buffer for that rather than have it at just 32? But that's pure speculation on my part. Or maybe it's because Sayre and Covington Holy Cross would be bumped up in the traditional format they've been doing but wouldn't in a 36 class 1A? Of course, Bishop Brossart is literally the next largest school above them and both plans condemn them to 2A, so who knows.

In one of the documents in the Board of Control agenda today shows 36 teams in 1A, 38 in 2A and 3A, 39 in 4A and 5A, and 32 in 6A. My guess is they’re hoping to avoid those playoff dropouts like you mentioned.
