Looking at the numbers. It looks like Beechwood is trending to being a 3A school by the next realignment. As they will be the 2nd biggest 2A school for this realignment, as they missed out being in 3A by only a few boys. 

Are they planning on actually releasing the districts today or is this just discussion?

Great question, and I hope they plan on at least sending out a draft. I am also curious if they will switch back to letting teams request to move up or down, or if they will continue to not let teams do that.

I've learned to expect that when suddenly something is introduced that wasn't previously public knowledge, it means that's the option they're going with.  

The true loser is KCD. Gets punished for winning a state championship.

Other schools are hurt even more IMO. Schools that haven't been able to win a title or even go deep in the playoffs are getting bumped to a higher class.

There's literally 4 schools it affecting. KCD, Bethlehem, Cal, and Cov Cath. This hurts Bethlehem worse.

Not true! I would say this definitely hurts Bishop Brossart and St. Henry more than it does KCD. Brossart is now moving up to 2A and will be in Beechwood's district. St. Henry is a new program, and now will be bumped up to 3A. 

LCA is the winner in all this.

All of 2A wins too since LCA moves up.  3A just swaps LCA in place of CAL who moves to 4A.  KCD, Bethlehem, St. Henry, and Brossart all get "screwed over" by the KHSAA.  CCH moves up to 5A which is no biggie for them. 

Am I missing anyone?

What will happen to the districts when teams decide to drop out of district play?  For example, Thomas Nelson last cycle did not play in district play.  That would make their district have only 3 teams in it.  Do they move a team to make it 4 teams or just roll with 3 team district.
