The resources are the JCPS pool of talent that would be flowing into Male. I didn’t say FACILITIES.

Exactly. The talent pool trumps all other "resources."

  • Found this out today....  Chris Wolfe Brian Weinrich Jeff Walz (U of L women's coach) were all in the same homeroom at Highlands HS.

  • JCPS just finally got around to getting Male turf for their field and their school's operating in a second-hand building. They don't broadcast their own games because they don't have internet out in t

  • That would be sad for Male to move to 5A JCPS is an unmitigated disaster in all aspects. But this is a subject for another day.

The dynamics of that talent pool has changed though, and not for the better for Male.  Makes the job a little less appealing, but just a little.

Guys - more big news... Coach Wolfe will be our guest on the podcast, the Thursday before the State Championship games. We will get the link out at 7:30 pm EST, that evening. I am fired up to celebrate a great career and football coach!

Bluebird Alums are running the podcast these days! ? ?

That would be very ironic considering his daughter went to Whitefield Academy.

Maybe it's just certain privates.

Is this something Justin Haddix would be interested in? Maybe wishcasting here, lol.

Why leave Boyle? As I understand his wife is a physician. The Danville area may be a place they enjoy more than a big city.

Haddix with Male's resources would change the Big 3 and 6A landscape for sure!

Not necessarily. He might find it quite different from Boyle.

The end quote there where says onto next chapter is interesting. Definitely financially lucrative if have pension then go private school with same salary.

Trust me....it is the way to go even if the salary is less. With the Social Security fairness act repealed for Kentucky he could build up SSI credit as well as joining the diocese pension plan.

Male seems like the caliber of job that has the potential to make Brandon Smith consider moving from Bowling Green to Louisville.

Why? He grew up in Boyle County. Bowling Green is a very nice place and he's about an hour from Nashville, correct? I imagine he has about everything he wants or needs at South Warren.

And... you can still be a public school HS coach in KY.... but it is trickier. You have to be careful so you don't screw up your retirement.

Male should consider calling Brock Roberts at North Oldham. Solid resume for what he has accomplished over the past three seasons at North and along with his time at Eminence. Young up and coming coach, generated a lot of noice since arriving in Goshen.

Male could definitely hire somebody local, but I just have a feeling that Kelsey will try to make another big splash around the state like he did when he got Tim Haworth.

Boyle County is over 2 hours away from Bowling Green. Louisville is more than a half hour closer to Boyle County than Bowling Green.

Dad's family has some roots in Louisville. Chuck graduated from Jeffersontown High School.

Louisville is a very nice place and is about 75 minutes from Lexington, 90 minutes from Cincinnati, and 110 minutes from Indianapolis.

South Warren is a 6A school now. Male has basically always been dealing with the big boys around the state. South Warren is still in their first year of doing so. Granted, South Warren is having a great season this year, I don't think the 6A teams in the western part of the state will regularly offer the same caliber of competition (and preparation for the playoffs) that the teams around Louisville do. South Warren has been a phenomenal football program, basically from right out of the starting gate. I'm not even remotely trying to detract from Brandon's coaching ability, because that would be pretty dumb for anyone to do, but one seldom mentioned advantage they have had at South Warren has been the fact that on the back end of their time in 3A, and then 4A, and then 5A, football alignments their school has been nearly the largest in their classification as their enrollment has expanded into the next class up. If I'm not mistaken, their enrollment during their final year in 3A had them larger than the 10 lowest 4A schools, and then in their final year in 4A their enrollment had them larger than about a dozen of the lowest 5A schools. That is no longer something they will have going for them in 6A.

Also, it'd just be flat out cool to get to be the head football coach of one of the oldest high school football programs in the country. Period.

Coach Dantzler would be good coach but not sure if his issue at Central would eliminate consideration since a JCPS school.
