  • JCPS just finally got around to getting Male turf for their field and their school's operating in a second-hand building. They don't broadcast their own games because they don't have internet out in t

  • That would be sad for Male to move to 5A JCPS is an unmitigated disaster in all aspects. But this is a subject for another day.

Male is getting most of the better student-athletes from ALL traditional feeder middle schools. Look at Butler's recent lack of success. Wolfe figured it out in Jefferson County. I truly feel with the relatively new administration at St. Xavier, Wolfe is their leading candidate. Like Wallace, no teaching responsibilities, only hand shaking and fund raising.....I was told by Baisch relative, he does not want to be head coach of his Alma Mater.

False statement. There are people  whose kids attending JCTMS right now and they can’t select Male as a high school option due to their address. There’s not one single kid from the Johnson team that won JCPS middle school championship last year at Male because they are at Butler.

The thing Wolfe figured out is that you play Trinity from Freshman level up and compete from day 1.  As great as Redman was, he didn’t want to play Trinity in the regular season and the gap started to grow at the end of his tenure.

Male is still a top tier job don’t get me wrong; but it’s certainly some changes going on within the school.

Link to interview with Coach Wolfe.

He said because of pension if you don't leave at 27 years then you stay 30 years. He said the new JCPS enrollment policies are hurting Male's enrollment and didn't want to stay until 30 years to navigate the enrollment issues. He said Male may eventually move to 5A if enrollment decreases continue.

He said the stopped busing hurt then they made it where half of Jefferson County by address can't even apply for Male where it used to be anybody could apply. Sounds like JCPS trying to prop up Butler with that rule.

Watched all those guys grow up and play as my son was also in that class. That was a good group of young people. Losing season as freshman....state champions as seniors. Jeff played football until he entered HS but then concentrated on basketball.

Just a great interview.  Coach Wolfe is a great molder of young men.  Hope he reappears at another program sooner rather than later.

The resources are the JCPS pool of talent that would be flowing into Male. I didn’t say FACILITIES.

I'd like to see a total tally of football players getting college offers at Boyle and Male over the last 5-10 years. Especially FBS and FCS offers. I've got a sneaking suspicion that Boyle would come out ahead of Male.

Male obviously gets some very talented players, but Boyle is right there with Male if they're not a step ahead in talent.

I thought Dan McDonald from Providence might have a shot at this...any updates?

I'd think Marc Clark is the guy who gets it.

He's been there for a couple of years and has experience.

Coach Wolfe said the players he could attract were cut in half correct? If so can Male still be one of the BIG 3?

Will be tougher especially with South Warren and Frederick Douglass then you have teams like Ryle and Bullitt East that have made it to Kroger field. They will probably be a consistent top 10 team unless enrollment goes down enough to drop them to 5A.
