Life Insurance Policies. Certain UL season ticket holders have to buy life insurance policies with UL as the beneficiary.

Not exactly. People can do this, they don't have to. It is a way to get credit for a larger donation, thus meet the giving expectations required to keep your tickets. All programs use it, it's called charitable giving through life insurance.

No way this includes apparel sales, TV contracts, etc. This appears to be just ticket sales.

Gross revenue is impressive, but where UL distances itself is the net profit. They are retaining an awfully high % of their gross revenue. Kudos.

Here are the numbers from 2002-2003

And here is a CNN.net article showing the same 2004-2005 data, but they list Arizona as the most profitable and they left Louisville completely off the list.

I had a feeling it didn't include the tv contracts, they would be worth several million theirself.

Question to UL fans.. What are the face values of tickets for upper and lower level seats at UL games? What kind of yearly donation do you have to make to get these tickets?

I really think the deciding factor in this is gonna be take home from concessions, parking, and UL's leasing of FH. I would say they get a much better cut than UK in each of those categories. The sale of alcohol is huge, what's a cup of beer cost at FH, $5?

The discrepencies in these figures are just crazy.. One article claims that CBS pays $565 million a year (in 2004) to get the rights to the NCAA tourney. However, the other article claims that CBS paid 'more than' $400 million in 2005. Yes, 565 is 'more than' 400, but that's a pretty vague number. You would think that if anything, CBS would have paid more in 05, not less.
