A lot of the lots around Rupp are privately owned, not part of the center, while the Fair Grounds takes $ 5 a car and unless you want to hike a ways or ferry over from Tailgaters it's the only option. I think we've found the difference.

The catch was to even be allowed to enter the lottery to have the right to purchase one of those seats, you must have donated at least $250,000 to UofL. The guess of $50,000 for a suite is way too low (Heck, a suite for four home Trinity football games is $20,000). OBTW, those courtside seats were sold out in a day. Without an NBA team in town there are are plenty of business interests with deep pockets willing to spend $$$ on UofL basketball.

I think its the suites as well. Its all about the deal with the venue. Maybe UofL gets the suite revenue at FH and maybe UK doesn't get it all at Rupp.

January 15, 200719 yr I'm pretty familiar with the concession sales at UofL. The big money doesn't come from concessions, alcohol or otherwise. The $$$ is in TV, suites and sell-outs. When NFL/NBA/MLB teams scream for new venues what is priority one? Suites.

Well, I have to agree with LSUrock...The money comes from TV and selling out games...Sure, Freedom Hall may only hold 19,000, but I'd be willing to bet they sell out 85-90% of the home games every year....I've been there very times that it wasn't full, and one of those times was Christmas Eve...

UK sells more tickets than UL, and has a much bigger fan base. IF UL is making that much more than UK in basketball, an on campus arena for UK is not only very feasible, it's almost a no-brainer.
