That's because there is about double or triple population in the Cinci metro area than the Huntington/Wv tristate area. If things were flipped you would have more state Champions from  the Ashland area.

For what it's worth, the 9th Region has only won the Sweet 16 four times in the over 100 years of the tournament. Simon Kenton 1981 (They used to be in the 9th), Holmes 2009, Covington Catholic 2014 & 2018.

It’s a drag when your team loses in a big game. We all get that. You have a great team, and a lot to be proud of. They had a great season for sure.

Is it that hard for Ashland fans to say that they lost to a better team? It happens. Can we be real and say they only made it this far because they got a “best case scenario” draw in the bracket. Good run this year. Be proud. They’ll win the 16th again next year.

I'm a Russell fan but Highlands definitely the better team, 2-0 vs. the Tomcats this season.

The Bluebirds are impressive.

Ashland- Russell are biter Rivals. Rose Hill is a better team then the Devils.
