Drew Barker Transferring From UK

Featured Replies

Well all you got to measure with are his stat sheets now so....prove me wrong. His final numbers at UK will show he had more INT than TD and that's certainly a measure

Actually according to this he had a career 5 TD Passes to 7 Interceptions.

I hope Barker finds an opportunity to be the starter at a D1 school and we can find out what kind of a quarterback he truly is. As it stands now, he is a highly recruited quarterback who never lived up to his hype. I really hope he gets the chance to prove that wrong.

Several things come to mind here for me regarding Drew Barker.

To say that he is a low level D1 recruit is frankly laughable. The Ole Ball Coach certainly went after him hot and heavy.

Johnson was a good athlete, but not even near an average QB.

This also shows me how awful the coaching staff is at evaluating talent and how to develop it, see Matt Elam and Cole Mosier and prime examples. This whole 2 star, 3 star and 4 star thing is an absolute joke as proven every year in college football when some unknown and unrecruited walk on has success at the D1 level, see Hunter Renfro or the kid from Auburn.

All of the "star" rankings are nothing more than a dog and pony show where kids go around the country to pay their money to be "seen". I will use my son as a prime example of how this stuff works. He was unable to run the camp circuit in the summer because of injuries and more the fact that I just did not have the money to run him all over the country. This prevented him from getting a sniff at the big time schools. I have had many people ask me over the last few years why he is at Lindsey Wilson and not a bigger school. Well the answer is pretty simple when you get right down to it.

On top of Barker a RB is trying to transfer to be near a sick parent and UK hasn’t granted permission yet for him to go to Toledo. At least Drew had no issues being released.

Who will be the next highly graded QB that U.K. ruins?

Just check and see who they have signed.... that'll be your answer.

He was really bad when he played. All Johnson did was win. There was no comparison between the two.

Except when he lost - all those times.

I said he would be a bust at UK and everyone disagreed we me. Maybe I am smarter than people think.

I was wondering who it was, so I looked at their roster. I’m assuming it’s Koback? 5 of UK’s 7 RBs listed are from Ohio. That’s crazy

It is Koback.

2 game sample size does not equal flop.

Ummm, yes it does. The sample size is actually the issue, not necessarily the performance factor.
