Well all you got to measure with are his stat sheets now so....prove me wrong. His final numbers at UK will show he had more INT than TD and that's certainly a measure

He was lights out the first half against So. Miss. The second half the line couldn't block me and he ran for his life every snap. Same thing at Florida and the rest is history. I think if given snaps and time in the pocket he is a good QB. I hate to see him transfer and I know I'm in the minority but I think if he didn't get hurt UK wins more games the last 2 years than they did with Johnson. Everyone keeps saying Stephen just wins but I think Benny had a lot more to say about that than Johnson. Johnson has missed so many short and intermediate passes the last 2 years it's beyond frustrating. He got better this year but not much. Yes, he throws a nice deep ball but even a lot of those were under thrown and the receivers made adjustments to make the catch. IMO, the offense has been pretty limited because of Johnson's arm.

I agree 100%. Because of Johnson’s limitations we were introduced to the Wildcat which everyone just loved watching. Johnson didn’t do anything special, he just never lost you a game so it’s hard to bench the guy.

Based on he chose UK over all the other D1 schools that seemed to think different to start with.

 

Don't misinterpret, he could have played at a lot of schools, but he was his own best press man and had a really good understanding of the recruitment process, so there was a lot of visual self-promotion during the recruitment period.

He chose UK because he’s a UK fan and wanted to stay home. If he would have commited to EKU I would agree with you, but since when did committing to a power 5 program become some sort of knock?

If the criteria of choosing a school because you are a fan is the measure, then probably about the same time that most people said the exact same thing about Pat Towles...but whose counting ?

If he was as good as you obviously believe he was, then why didn't he transfer after he saw the obvious writing on the wall to : UC, UL, IU, Miami, NC, Purdue, Vandy, TN or WKU.

Personally love the kid and hope he gets his chance. I’m wondering if has off field antics early in his career gave him a slow start and don’t forget he had a horrible back injury that was kept rather quiet. Hope to see him on the field as a starter.

Barker has a very good arm, not sure about his accuracy since he didn't play much. His biggest weakness that I saw, granted it was while not playing a lot, was his pocket awareness. Hopefully he finds the right fit next year.

Because he lost his job due to a back injury that sidelined him for 6 months and the QB who stepped in led them to back to back bowl games for the first time in a while. Not exactly a fair shake for Drew.

The off the field stuff his freshmen year, the back injury, everything that happened during his time at UK is just extremely unfortunate for a kid that I think can still play football at a really high level.
