halfback20
Eli rarely gets in the playoffs too so....... Eli has made the playoffs 6 times and is 8-, 2800 yards, 18 TD, 9 INT, 87.4 rating Ben has made it 9 times, and is 13-7, 4700 yards, 25 TD, 23 INT, 84.3 rating. halfback20
And since playoffs matter so much, Drew Brees has only made it 6 times and is 6-5. Rodgers 9 times is 10-7. Romo...4 times and was 2-4.
futurecoach
The 2 most overrated QB's of all time: Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman. Not even close. Both were merely a product of the players around them. Put them on an average team and they are Andy Dalton. Eh not really. Those qbs at least won big games with the talent around him. Dalton folds in big games in prime time or playoffs or big moments in general. Even talented teams need qbs who can make plays in big moments. While those qbs benefited greatly because of the talent around them. They also contributed by making big time plays when it mattered most. Dalton with or without talent around him doesn't do that in big moments. So I do think you are selling those two qbs short with your comparison to Dalton. Jumper_Dad
Eli has more TDs, yards, and has been better in the playoffs. Ben was awful in his first Superbowl run. Without Eli, the Giants dont make the playoffs in 2011, much less win it all. As good as Aaron Rodgers, and Brees are, they haven't won multiple super bowls. That goes a long way. Eli winning two Superbowls will get him into the HoF...Kurt Warner is two plays from winning three Superbowls (with the horrible franchises Rams and Cardinals) and I wouldn't put him above Rodgers either. Brees completes 10% more of his passes and in just 31 more games has thrown for 28,000 more yards and 115 more TDs than Eli. Brees playoff stats are better too. Eli or anyone not named Brady playing today is in the conversation with Rodgers. Eli has larger career numbers than Rodgers because he has played in 59 more games. Rogers has better per game numbers across the board and has been in the playoffs more often as well as having over 104 Career QBR compared to Eli's of 83.9, which is very good...just not at Rodgers level. I don't hate Eli, I really like him...he's just not Top 10 IMO.

sweet16
The only name on the list I even close to have an issue with is Warner. He only played a full season 3 times (and 15 games one other time), and only had 3 (IMO) great seasons and only 3 other really good seasons. At first thought, I'd put Kelly on the list in his place, but while Kelly had good numbers, and was very consistent, numbers wise, he only had maybe one great season. He had a bunch of good years, but statistically he wasn't as good as I remembered. Statistically, Fouts probably belongs, but his lack of playoff success (and even appearances) makes it hard for me to elevate him to the list. Two guys who are probably just outside the top 10, but deserve mention, are Donovan McNabb, and Randall Cunningham. Warner is a HOFer

It's great to compare for individual years. But by this logic Dan Fouts and Bob Griese are on the same level with Brady and Rodgers which just isn't logical IMO. Griese played in a completely different era, no comparing those guys really to today. Fouts had as much arm talent as anyone on the list and was the true Granddaddy to today's QBs. If Fouts played today he'd be at the top with Brady and Rodgers, he was that good. How do you know Manning barely edged anyone, if you have the vote totals that's fine. If you put Brady on a team in the 70's hes first team every year. Same with the other 3 I listed Manning, Rodgers, and Brees. With regards to vote totals I don't have those, but I'm sure I could, that's not my point. My point was that if one of those other 3 guys won MVP one of those years, would it have really been something to question? IMO you're splitting hairs discussing the individual year to year greatness of Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers.
