Top 10 Modern QB's

The 2 most overrated QB's of all time: Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman. Not even close. Both were merely a product of the players around them. Put them on an average team and they are Andy Dalton.

It's hard to compare old QB's like Bradshaw today, in the decade of the 70's the leading passer in the league only broke 3,200 yards 3 times. Bradshaw deserves some respect for coming up big in the big games (2X SB MVP) and for being one of the last QBs to call his own plays in the huddle with no input from the coaches.

Since 1980 when the rules begin to swing to the offensive side of the ball, who are the top 10 QB's.

You can put them in an order or not, but be prepared to defend bad choices :lol2:

In alphbetical order here are my Top 10 to start it off.

Brady

Brees

Elway

Farve

Manning

Marino

Montana

Rodgers

Young

Warner

Also considered

Jim Kelly, Tony Romo, Troy Aikman and Dan Fouts

I'd take Roethlisberger over Brees in terms of the totality of their career. I'd take both over Kurt Warner.

Marino will always be the one that can really jump-start a debate: video-game numbers, non-winner, and absolutely horrible dude in "real life".

This is all true. But he's still overrated.

If Marino won a couple of Super Bowls I don't think there would be a debate over who the greatest ever was.

I'm a big Warner and Brees fan, but I'd take Big Ben over both. I'd probably take him over a couple others on the original list too. All in all, I think JD's list is good. Can't really complain about any that he has on there.

I'm sure he and his Gold Jacket and four SB rings lay in bed at night crying about being over rated :lol2:

I like Ben too and at the time he just slipped my mind, Me personally would put Big Ben in over Brees.

Just my own preference....I'd have him above Brees, Warner, Favre, and Marino. I imagine most would think differently on Favre and Marino though.

Marino was a freak throwing the ball, I don't know how much you got to watch him in his prime but he was ridiculous.

Which Young are we speaking of here?

Steve, who did you think?

If I were him I'd shove my 4 rings in my face and tell me to shove it. Doesn't change my opinion though.

I think differently on Marino not Favre. The list I'm taking ahead Marino I can count on one hand.

I wasn't alive when Marino was in his prime, but I watched a lot of tape of him when I was younger and IMO the guy was one of the 5-6 greatest ever.

Steve, who did you think?

Vince. :lol2:
