Bengals 28 Steelers 20

No, apparently I didn't. Your prose certainly doesn't make comprehension an easy task.

And as far as fevers go, anything above 100 certainly qualifies as something more than "slight."

But it's really not about that, is it? Just that you want to play the guy out to be a pansy because he plays for a team you don't like. So knock yourself out if it makes it easier to forget about all those years of losing.

With all the venom you and some of the others in the Cheap Shot Choir have been spewing all day, you'd think the Bengals lost today.

Like I said, used to like Ben, stuck up for him in the past, don't think he's the same guy he was before.. And to say a 100.4 degree fever is nearly the same as 104, well that's a joke. But I think we've already established his character,... so on to bigger things...

Wow Im glad I have been out celebrating the victory instead of on here, because there is way to much on arguing going on after such a big victory...Palmer definitely didn't play his best game today, but he did make the throws when he had to. Its good to see that we still won and we didn't even need Palmer to play his best game. The line though definitely needs to fix some of their problems...Also as GT said I think we might see Joseph get the starting job over James some time during the season, he looked really good today... Now on Big Ben he has not played good, but he is not the worst QB in the league like someone said. He is a good but not great NFL QB IMO. And also Jim Schue you bring up the playoff and how he did but didn't Big Ben have the lowest passing rating of any super bowl winning QB ever? So he didn't do great all playoffs either, but he did enough to win the games just like Palmer did today while not playing that great. The surprising thing is that Palmer still had an above 90% passing rating for today, so that dont look to bad. But he does need to cut down on turnovers. It was kind of like his rookie year with some of his fumbles today, but I think the more into the season we get he will lose any of the rust he has left and start playing to the great level and even better than he did last year..

Ok there I think I touched on all the points and arguments I seen in this thread lol...Great win by the Bengals today, and now get to focus on another huge game next week against the Patriots, and I will be there to watch it!!!

WHO DEY!!!

Also this was a very ugly game today, both teams seemed like they wanted to hand the other team the game. There were so many turnover today, and alot more turnovers that could have happened. Both teams had shots at interceptions that they dropped, and fumbles. The Bengals however were just able to take advantage of more of the Steeler mistakes!

Neither team played their best game today, and that is why I am happy about the win still because the bengals definitely did not play their best today but still found away to win the game like great teams do.

WHO DEY!!!

FC: Ben sill played better in the postseason last year than at any other point in his career.

I know, and I wasn't trying to put him down. I was just saying that because you was talking about how he performed in the playoffs last to that one guy on here, and I just wanted to point out that his pasing rating was not that good at all in the super bowl. As I said IMO I think he is a good QB but not a GREAT QB, and that is all that Pittsburgh needs though because they dont need a QB who is great they just need someone like Big Ben who usually manages the game well for them...

Carson Palmer on how he played.

I just thought I played bad," he said. "I had four touchdown passes, but on one, T.J. (Houshmandzadeh) made a phenomenal play on, so that's how that happened. It was ugly. Your quarterback can't play that way. I have to step my game up and play better next time."

Scored 20 or more and lead by 11+.

The Steelers scored 20 or more.

The Steelers were leading after 3 quarters.

The Steelers outrushed their opponent.

The Steelers won the battle of time of possession.

The Steelers had a 100 yard rusher.

The Steelers scored first.

The Steelers rushed 35 times (I presume).

The only one they didn't do was ever lead by 11.

How long until J. Joe takes over for James as the #2 CB???

June 2007

If you are referring to the one long pass play; the problem was the blitz never got there allowing the receiver to run a double-move and James having no deep help.

The coaches love James and say he does nothing but get better every year.

Perhaps that was the pinnacle of his carreer:D Seriously though Ben has proved that he is a good QB. His problem this year will be his recieving corp. Besides Ward, who do you throw too? Pitt was shortsighted by not replacing Burress with a legit #2 reciever. Rande-El leaves and they have backups at best in starting roles. At RB, Parker is very good but is somewhat untested. Haynes who is he? Ben will continue to struggle with these guys around him, and unfortunately he will take the brunt of criticisism. Unless these shortcomings are addressed Pitt is looking at a long woeful season IMO

ALL of that goes out the window when you donate it 5 times!

The Steelers have only 2 legit receivers in Ward (who is still recovering from a hamstring) and Miller (who was underutilized yesterday IMO). Then there are 4 #5 receivers. Ben made poor decisions yesterday, not only with the picks, but he ate it instead of getting rid of it more than he typically does. We forget how young the kid is. I, for one, am not in the least worried about Ben. I'm more worried about the receiving corps. Worst I've seen as a Steeler fan in many years. But let's for a moment look at the importance of QB play. Look at our division for instance. The Steelers suffer through many years of Kordell with some stud teams but can't overcome a cruddy QB. The Ravens (with the exception of the SB victory, and that QB play is debatable) are so much better without Boler at the helm. Imagine with that D and running game how they'd have been with a quality QB. And no one in their right mind would assume the Bengirls would sniff the level they have attained without Carson. You get to a certain level of success from the play of the QB more than any other factor IMO.

All i know is i loved it when Ward got smacked going across the middle. You dont see him drop to many passes. Anyone else see him kick our guy after he got laid out?

Ha yeah. Whoever laid him out got right in his face and told him whats up. So like any tough guy would do, he kicked him off. Hehehe i loved it.

Ben didn't play as bad as people are saying, IMO. While I was watching the game, his receivers dropped several passes that should have been caught. The dropped touchdown comes to mind that could have brought Pitt within a FG with a 2-pt conversion. There were some bad plays (throws and decisions) by Ben, but there were quite a few good ones that he doesn't get credit for because his receivers failed to catch the ball. He'll be fine. Pittsburgh will be fine.

We all know that football is a game of matchups. I just think, when healthy, that Cincy matches up quite favorably with Pittsburgh.

BTW, is Willie Anderson 100%? He got abused yesterday, which is not something I expect to see when watching the Bengals. That is a concern.
