September 25, 200619 yr Its unreal how good those 3 are together. They all fit their roles nicely too. It won't be long before Henry gets a big head. Its a good thing he is on a long rookie contract because he will cost some big bucks... he could be a #1 in some places...
September 25, 200619 yr Its a good thing he is on a long rookie contract because he will cost some big bucks... he could be a #1 in some places... How much longer is he under contract? Alot of teams would have him as there #1.
September 25, 200619 yr How much longer is he under contract? Alot of teams would have him as there #1. I think he signed a 5 year rookie deal...
September 25, 200619 yr I think he signed a 5 year rookie deal... Restricted FA after 4 years I believe. You know teams are going to try hard to get him if he keeps his head on even semi straight...
September 25, 200619 yr Restricted FA after 4 years I believe. You know teams are going to try hard to get him if he keeps his head on even semi straight... I hope they don't use one of those poison pill contracts like the Vikes did with Hutch... can they do that with restricted free agents?
September 25, 200619 yr I hope they don't use one of those poison pill contracts like the Vikes did with Hutch... can they do that with restricted free agents? That's when you do it. They can match, but be prepared to pay...
September 25, 200619 yr  His first year he only loses one game, the second he wins the Super Bowl...A lot to lose respect for...:sssh: if Palmer didn't "accidently get tackled in the knee" They wouldn't have won the Super Bowl. :ylsuper: I do think both teams will be playing for something on New Years eve. Plamer couldn't get pass protection yet the special teams made up for it. Pittsburgh just had a bad day on special teams. The Bengals just got a break that all those things just happened on a day when they were not playing their best. Yet again Palmer did have 4 touchdown passes...
September 25, 200619 yr if Palmer didn't "accidently get tackled in the knee" They wouldn't have won the Super Bowl. :ylsuper: You guys REALLY need to give it up...The play was clean. Move on...
September 25, 200619 yr You guys REALLY need to give it up...The play was clean. Move on... I am 100% a Bengal fan, I dislike the Steelers and will say that I didn't think that hit was all that "clean" at all but I wasn't crying about it then and am not now. I agree with you in that it needs to be dropped :thumb: , that was last season - some need to quit looking in the rear view mirror. ALL teams have dealt with this kind of thing at one time or another.
September 25, 200619 yr The penalties were the least of Pittsburgh's problems, but part of the larger problem of shooting themselves in the foot. I'd say what'd they do make it through the whole first half with no penalties.....
September 25, 200619 yr And what does that have to do with Palmer's sub par play? I haven't seen a Steelers fan say they were happy with Ben's play. Yes but I've seen several on both sides act like CP played horrible,... HE DIDN'T!!!
September 25, 200619 yr I know you can read. I was saying you didn't understand Palmer's role. Look, lets start over. I want to give you a chance to really understand what's being said here. OF COURSE he had better numbers. It's a given that he will. All I was getting at there is that it is the height of stupidity to compare Palmer and Roethlisberger straight up and say that because Palmer had better numbers, all is right with the world. If he doesn't have better numbers, we're on the verge of the Apocalypse. What matters is the role they play on their teams. Roethlisberger isn't supposed to win games for the Steelers. He's a role player that, despite his (stupid) injuries and (no fault of his own) illness from the offseason, MIGHT develop into more but at the moment has taken a step back from what he was as a gamemanager in the playoffs last year. Palmer, on the other hand, IS supposed to win games for the Bengals. They're setup as probably the premiere passing team in the league. They have a WR stable that the NFL hasn't seen since the '99 Rams, and Carson Palmer is the most important player on the team because it's his job to get it to them. If he's losing the ball too much, the Bengals' defense isn't going to usually be good enough to bail him out. Against the Patriots or the Colts today, the Bengals would have been dusted and Palmer would be the goat. Celebrate the win, be happy, but don't act like the TO's don't matter just because Roethlisberger had them too. Tell that to the Steelers fans on the thread,... not me
September 25, 200619 yr Yes but I've seen several on both sides act like CP played horrible,... HE DIDN'T!!! He played like crap. He said it. I said it. Others have said it. They won and Carson played like crap. Enjoy it. It's going to be a big factor over his career. If we continue to win games that he isn't at his best, this franchise is in for big things...

USUALLY,.. are you basing that off years past, bc we've only played three games this year, and I think the D for the most part isn't looking all that bad...
September 25, 200619 yr Carson himself said he played like crap, what do you need to see it wasn't one of his best games? Maybe not his best, but he wasn't asbad as people make it out to be... I don't ever recall CP ever saying "I played amazing, I was on fire." either... so don't even start the whole "he even said he played bad" garbage
