Did anyone see Marvin Lewis's post game speech in the lockerroom? A nice little speech. After hearing that, if C. Johnson does any complaining after the game, then he's definitely going to be in Coach's doghouse.

If Chad Johnson is upset after this game then he is pretty selfish. You would think a guy would be happy when two of his teammates each catch 2 TD's to beat your division rival and defending Super Bowl champs. CJ will get his catches, he just has to realize that he isn't going to get the ball every play.

 

I like the fact that the Bengals are winning close games. Those are the types of games you get in the playoffs and it takes a little toughness to win them.

I disagree, I'm sure he's happy the Bengals won, but he didn't get the ball as much as he thought he should have, and he was open a lot. I'd say he's more frustrated than upset...

Not at all, they are saying Carson could have played better and had too many TO's, just like people not from UL, such as myself... Do you think that Carson played as good as he could have and didn't give up the ball too much?

Nothing is wrong with it. Everyone is happy we won and he threw 4 TD's, they are saying he needs to be better to win down the road.

By the way, after the game Carson was quoted as saying, " I played like crap..."

All I was getting at there is that it is the height of stupidity to compare Palmer and Roethlisberger straight up and say that because Palmer had better numbers, all is right with the world. If he doesn't have better numbers, we're on the verge of the Apocalypse.

 

What matters is the role they play on their teams. Roethlisberger isn't supposed to win games for the Steelers. He's a role player that, despite his (stupid) injuries and (no fault of his own) illness from the offseason, MIGHT develop into more but at the moment has taken a step back from what he was as a gamemanager in the playoffs last year.

 

Palmer, on the other hand, IS supposed to win games for the Bengals. They're setup as probably the premiere passing team in the league. They have a WR stable that the NFL hasn't seen since the '99 Rams, and Carson Palmer is the most important player on the team because it's his job to get it to them. If he's losing the ball too much, the Bengals' defense isn't going to usually be good enough to bail him out.

 

Against the Patriots or the Colts today, the Bengals would have been dusted and Palmer would be the goat. Celebrate the win, be happy, but don't act like the TO's don't matter just because Roethlisberger had them too.

So you are pointing the AXE at Carson. His TO's had nothing to do with our O-Line today letting the defense take good shots at him constantly? I guess your right if he could run like Vick, he would have been able to dodge 2-3 defenders every other play.
