September 24, 200619 yr If Braham is out all year (or for an extended period of time) than I think Marvin made the right decision at C today...
September 24, 200619 yr Any win in the NFL is big - any win ON THE ROAD is even bigger. Add that to the fact that they're the defending super bowl champs & in the division, then it gets even BIGGER. A disappointing performance today, but the outcome is perfect. A huge win for the Bengals, especially since they did not play particularly well. Carson will be fine. I wonder how Chad will react to this one though...I hope he surprises me, but I'm nervous about what he has to say.... I think he'll keep it in the locker room, but he's definitely upset about it...
September 24, 200619 yr I think he'll keep it in the locker room, but he's definitely upset about it... Him keeping it in the locker room would be the most surprising thing...
September 24, 200619 yr If it was any other team besides Pittsburgh, would you care then? Any other team isn't the Super Bowl Champs though... If this was a consistant problem, I'd be worried, but it was an ugly game that we came out with a W...
September 24, 200619 yr You must not have watched this week and last.... So, are you just trying to suggest to me that his play in the playoffs last year was just a fluke? Stop, you're killing me …

And like I said, be happy with the win; but don't act like TO's don't matter in the NFL. They're probably the most important stat in the league. Trust me, as a Rams fan, I know. When the Rams defense was picking up loose balls, they were able to overcome their gambles on offense; but you can't rely on defense forcing TO's, at some point that goes away and your TO differential will go from push to negative. Now look at the Rams (as much as it hurts to do so...) Forcing TOs consistantly is at least 60% luck. Coughing it up all the time isn't.
September 24, 200619 yr I will be the first to agree that #7 has not been anywhere close to par his first two games back, but Im not ready to give up on him yet...The one ball he threw deep and got picked on, you could tell he just didnt have the strength back from the surgery...Only time will tell. Oh really or was it the bike wreck, or lack of desire and therapy,.. I've lost alot of respect for Ben over the years...
September 24, 200619 yr So, are you just trying to suggest to me that his play in the playoffs last year was just a fluke? Stop, you're killing me … I'm suggesting Big Ben's not the same QB as he was last year...
September 24, 200619 yr I have watched Pitts last 2 games I and think they have serious problems. AFC North will become a 2 team battle (Bengals and Ravens). The Bengals haven't seen anything until the Ravens D comes calling.
September 24, 200619 yr Any other team isn't the Super Bowl Champs though... If this was a consistant problem, I'd be worried, but it was an ugly game that we came out with a W... You honestly think it's because they are the defending champs, and not because they are the Steelers? I dont...
September 24, 200619 yr Why do you keep comparing their performances?! Last I checked, Roethlisberger is NOT considered to be in Palmer's league, least of all by Bengal fans. Palmer should be judged by what he can do and by what his team needs, and not taking care of the football like that will result in too many losses for a Bengals deep run in the playoffs. Palmer is better than that, and Cincy needs him to play like it. I just can't understand the blythe attitude over this. You're right, you're proving my point, that's why he scored 4 TD's for his team and Ben scored NOOOONNNNNEEEE!!!!
September 24, 200619 yr Author Maybe we are just giving Pittsburgh too much credit.. hey I mean, I thought going to Pitt and winning would be an accomplishment shame on me!
September 24, 200619 yr Oh really or was it the bike wreck, or lack of desire and therapy,.. I've lost alot of respect for Ben over the years... He's just a 3rd year player.
September 24, 200619 yr You're right, you're proving my point, that's why he scored 4 TD's for his team and Ben scored NOOOONNNNNEEEE!!!!The only way you'd think that proves your point is if you A) can't read or B) know nothing about Carson's role for the Bengals. Palmer should always have better numbers than Roethlisberger. ALWAYS. Especially when he's gifted good field position.
