September 26, 200619 yr You're wrong, they doubled Chad most of the game with help over the top with a safety which left Henry or Whosyomomma with single coverage. That's 4. Do the math. By the way, the Steelers play a 3-4, not a 4-4 Henry didn't play the majority of snaps. When the Bengals only had 2 recievers in the game there was 3 down lineman, one LB on the line, and 4 "linebackers" behind them. That's 8 in the box.

That's 8 in the box. By 8 in the box, I mean when the ball was snapped there was what appeared to be a 4-4 defense. I know it's a 3-4 in theory, but the difference in a 3-4 and a 4-3 is primarily personel and blitz packages.

Not even in a goal line situation. Why is this an issue with you? The Bengal line was questionable against a normal rush/blitz package. It's okay! Most teams have trouble with it. Ask Indy last year, never did they put 8 up front. I thought that when Carson had any time at all, he dealt with it well. That was with at least 4 guys in coverage. The only time you'll see an extra guy coming is on a corner blitz which was very occasional Sunday or when Polamolu comes, which he didn't as much as normal due to injury. I hope you tivo'd it. Go back and watch!

Go back and watch! I did DVR it and I've watched it twice and both times I commented over and over again about the defense having 8 guys in the middle. I put "linebacker" in quotations because there can be safeties or other position players lined up as a LB. I'm always right so why would I have a problem with it? jk Why is an issue for you? Probably the same reason it's an issue for me, I feel that you are wrong and I'm right.
September 26, 200619 yr If you look at alot of those replays Chad was open a few times, but Carson just didn't go to him because either he was getting sacked or he didn't need to because TJ and Henry were making plays... :thumb: Good point, you are correct.
September 26, 200619 yr That whywe call him 7/11... all day everyday... 85!!!!!! He must have been closed Sunday...:sssh:

Please, if there is ONE play where 8 guys came, burn it to CD and I'll pay for shipping to watch. Until then, URWrong!
September 26, 200619 yr He must have been closed Sunday...:sssh: Like futurecoach said, he was open, but most of the time the Stealers got to Carson before he could get it to him, or Carson just didnt see him. I will say one thing for the Stealers...it seemed like they were playing with 18 guys on the field. Carson was always getting pressure, and when he got the ball off there were 3 or 4 Stealers around the ball just about every play.

I've been watching you all bicker for a while now, so spindoc show me where he said 8 guys came. I've seen him say 8 guys in the box or on the line, but never can I recall him sayin 8 blitzing...
September 27, 200619 yr I just counted 9 guys in the box and staying there on the first play... :sssh:
