Jason Frakes
Typically Louisville, Lexington and Northern Kentucky dominate these teams, Western Kentucky typically is ignored. Popularity contest is what it boils down too, unfortunately. Seven of The Courier-Journal's 24 first-teamers were from Western Kentucky. I've found Northern Kentucky gets ignored in these things far more than any other area of the state.

Harry Doyle
1) He's a sophomore. 2) He's a player. I've heard about him since he was an 8th grader at Union from former coaches/current coaches who also happened to have great careers as players in college as well. I judge their recognition of talent. 3) His time and more will come. He's on the map. Best of luck young man.

FootballBobcat
A) What schedule did he play against to acquire these stats? (this is not a loaded question; I honestly don't know where he played) B) How "connected" is his coach with lots of other head coaches (for it is a coaches' vote in the C-J)? A lot of times (not always) some of the votes are 'acquired' through emails saying, "you vote for my OL kid, I'll vote for your WR." C) How much was he "hyped" by his own school, coaching staff, and the media outlets in his area (I include people coming onto THIS site as important hype)? This explains a few things. Mr. Sixer
His time will come. As Jason Frakes stated he was going up against some notable names at the WR position this year like Johnson, Catlett, Hendrix and Hayes etc. He's made his initial mark and I am sure he will be recognized even more as his career develops. As Hellbird stated, name recognition plays a huge part in this process just he identified the QB who lead the State in passing didn't even make HM because it was his first and final season on varsity due to him being senior. ATLCat
How? Aug 19, 16 Allen County-Scottsville home (W) 20 - 12 Aug 26, 16 Owensboro Catholic home (L) 19 - 41 Sep 3, 16 Warren East (W) 41 - 19 Sep 9, 16 Hancock County home (W) 42 - 10 Sep 16, 16 Owensboro away (L) 6 - 36 Sep 23, 16 McCracken County home (L) 20 - 62 Oct 7, 16 Muhlenberg County away (W) 43 - 14 Oct 14, 16 Henderson County away (L) 40 - 42 Oct 21, 16 Ohio County home (W) 46 - 14 Oct 28, 16 Apollo away (W) 48 - 27 Nov 4, 16 Male away (L) 7 - 38 63 yards vs. OCath 68 yards vs. Owensboro 54 yards vs. Male It may be 6A football, but let's not make WKY 6A Football to be anything special because it is not. Against the three best teams on his schedule he only averaged 62 receiving yards. This isn't popularity, this is who is better... and Jake Johnson, Dante Hendix, etc are just better As mentioned, his time will come.. and when it does he needs to average more than 62 yards against his toughest competition. ECpride
He played against 2 teams CJ Hayes played and had better stats. So if we make comparisons based off of stats and level of competition Tinsley does stack better against Hayes from SW. I do not believe Tinsley is better than Hayes yet, but to say his stats and level of play doesn't compare with other WR is not accurate. Tinsley has a chance to be great if he continues to develop. Congrats on the Honorable Mention.
15th Region
It might not be updated, but JC Sophomore Joe Jackson went for over 2,000 yards rushing on the season and over 20 plus TD's. He did not make it either for the same reasons everyone else has mentioned. His time will come.
rosco
State had better pay attention to W KY area, The Thisley kid is real deal, makes all the catches. Several other sophomores had big years around here also, Vonn Williams at RB was best runner in area, Will Warren another sophomore QB had over 2100 yards passing and 32 td's, Nick Mills made catch after catch, Noah Todd disrupted offensive backfields all year long. I think you'll hear these names a lot over next few years, (hopefully in rest of KY)!
