First round of the year is in the books.

Toughed it out yesterday at Greenbrier. It never rained on us, but it was cold and pretty breezy.

I shot 81, which I was totally okay with. I played pretty well with the exception of a triple and 2 doubles.

Love that golf course. If you ever have a chance to play it, you should.

Had a strap snap on my carry bag last week...in the market for a new one. Only had this one for a little more than a season, got a lot of use out of it and picked it up pretty cheap brand new, but never seemed to be able to get the straps adjusted "just right".

You better be glad my putter was hot. :D

Anyone heading to Demo Day in Lexington on Saturday? It's at White Haven Driving Range off of Man-O-War, from 9am-3pm I believe.

I think we might be. Son tees off at 8:27 in Nicholasville Saturday and I think we are just gonna stay in Lex since he'll tee off again Sunday at 8:30. Weather looks decent by then according to TWC app

Tell him good luck in the Junior Masters, I aged out of it with a bad taste in my mouth unfortunately.

I think this was a thread last year, but the forum search was fruitless. I'm looking for a good golf trip in the Indianapolis-Louisville-Huntington-Columbus rectangle. Just a weekend getaway as requested by the groom-to-be's future boss.

All suggestions are welcome.

Got to play this morning. Played at Cynthiana CC. First of all, shoutout to the grounds crew there. The greens were fantastic for mid-May.

I played very well considering it was my second time out this season. 34-34. 3 birdies on each side. Chipped and putted well and stayed away from the big numbers.

Made me excited about the game again. Gotta admit, I had kind of lost interest.

Played today in the 10th anniversary scramble at Sag Hollow. The course has come a long way since that first year scramble in 2007. Got lucky today and had Eric Mason as a teammate and won with a -15. Guys like him are in a different stratosphere than most. Always enjoy watching golfers play who know the mechanics of the game.

I had one of my weirdest rounds at Woodson Bend on Thursday. I shot an 88 and could have been low 80's upper 70's. I know "could have beens" don't count. I hit the ball fantastic for most of the day. I had 8 birdie putts within 20-25 feet and made none. I left 3 putts literally one inch from the hole, and looked in the hole on the others. I had two chips rattle the pin and not go in , one for par, the other birdie.

So, how did I shoot 88? Easy, I had three lost balls that were in high roughs that I never found. I also had an OB and one water ball. Only the OB was a really bad shot. I tried to carry water 200 yards and crushed it, just came up short.

Just one of those days where the score didn't reflect how well I played. That's golf.

I would like my chances in any scramble where I have Eric on my team! :D

Good gosh, had to go to the 3rd page to find this thread. Is no one playing golf? I know I haven't played nearly as much at this point of the year compared to last.

Hey @spindoc...we doing the SO golf scramble this year?

I'm playing much more often than last year, I'm just playing poorly and having no fun doing it -- who wants to talk about that?

I, for one, would love to talk about how poorly you're playing. It might make me feel better about my own season. Off to a rough first half, I can tell you.

Been struggling all year. Played my 9 hole league last night and shot a net 26!! Took 9 of 10 points from the guy I was playing and cashed out $25 in winnings for the low net.
