Hit it on the green instead?:idunno:

:lol2:

Okay Doc.

Normally I'm pretty good at greens in regulation but it's early in the season and I've got some swing flaws to work out.

I forgot to mention that I also need some tips with my approach game as well. :D

Our golf league at Fox Run starts up this Monday. We are moving up to the grey tee boxes this year. Still don't think it will help my score.

Walked 9 holes Sunday afternoon. First full 9, had walked 5 holes a couple weeks earlier.

Played ok it essentially being first time out and keeping score. Shot a 45, pared 8 and 9 to finish the round, both playing into a pretty gusty wind that blew most of the day and definitely made playing more difficult. I hit the ball decently off the tee ad hit some decent iron shots, but always seemed to be in bad position. And putting, forget about it, couldn't make a putt all day. If I just putted normally probably would have shaved at least 3-4 strokes off that score. But, with the conditions and first full time out, not horrible overall.

I played in our weekly club league yesterday and hit the ball good off the tee but couldn't hit greens in regulation. I was barely off the greens by a few feet in most cases. However, I couldn't chip it worth a darn. I've never been good with that part of my game but last night was a 1 on a 10 scale. Usually my putter will save me on a few holes with some made 10-15 footers but on this day that went south too. Shot 44 on Par 36. My league average last year was 38, so I've got some work to do with my short game.

Does anyone have any tips on what to do to improve a bad chipping game?

There are some great videos on YouTube to help with the short game. When I'm having trouble with my chipping it's usually from lack of play which leads to lack of confidence. Lack of confidence in the short game is death. Usually some practice and repetition will correct most of it.

I made the mistake of buying the GBB Epic, got it right before I left for a tournament, left it home, got back and tinkered and played with it and couldn't hit it in the fairway. Back to the ole reliable Ping G30 I go.

Also have some Mizuno JPX 900's on order that should be here this week, gonna make the switch to them from the 716 AP2's.

Must have been the shaft in the Epic. I promise I could get you 10 yards over your G30 with the right shaft combo. I have played Ping woods my entire golfing career until the Epic.

First tournament next weekend at Kearney Hill. Have to find some groove with the flatstick or it could get ugly.

First time out was Monday. 84 from the old man tees. 40 on the front, holed a couple of snakes. 44 on the back; wind got up, I got tired, nothing dropped.

Nothing like that first time out on the course in 5 months!

I have been out 4-5 times at Woodson Bend. Just played random holes except once. I shot an 87 which isn't too bad for the first real test. I am headed to Orange Beach next week with my wife who is working. I'll get out one or two times there. Probably play Lost Key and then maybe Cotton.

This is my first 2-round weekend since June of 16. Really excited to play Lassing tomorrow AM and The Links at Rising Star (Grand Vic) on Sunday AM. Good company, hopefully some good scores, and what should be really solid weather. My new Mizuno irons and I are still getting acquainted, so hopefully we learn a little more about each other this weekend. Last time out I shot 77 but with only 25 putts, that certainly can't be counted on, so my tee to green game better get a LOT better.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Tried several different ones, and it just wouldn't work, disappointed me because I was hitting it 290 carry in Trackman which isn't too shabby for me considering I'm 5'9 130lbs. I've had the G30 since junior year of highschool and it's gonna be really hard for me to get away from it.

Apparently they tilled up and leveled off tee boxes at the Oaks this past week, I'm playing there in the morning so I'll have to check it out!

Had fun at Lassing when I went last year.

I absolutely loathe Lassing Pointe. My least favorite course in the world. I have never broken 95 on it. The course is fine in condition and layout, however, I just can't play it. A buddy of mine whom I usually beat by 8-10 strokes beats me straight up there every time.

It's in my head now, I know that. I ain't gonna put myself through that any more. Just can't do it.

Par 3's ate me up, otherwise I played pretty well. Old man's tees, though.

Shot a 40-35-75 today at Legendary Run. Got it rolling on the back! Three birdies and a double bogey...pulled a 9 iron in the drink on 16:angrybird4:

Overall, had a GREAT time. What was up with the weatherman today? No rain in the forecast and it rained off and on the first 6 holes. Ugh...

BTW BM...I love Lassing Pointe! Wide fairways and huge greens...
