Robert Trent Jones is a jerk. My score card is proof.

Walked 18 today at Boone Links...weather really cooperated! Played 15 holes 2 over...the other 3 holes I was 7 over (a triple and 2 doubles):irked:

Very rarely anymore do I get a two-round weekend -- but this weekend is one of those instances. Saturday at Lassing and Sunday at The Links at Rising Star (nee Grand Victoria). Two of my favorite courses in the area, great dudes along with, and what appears to be pretty good weather (although Sunday may have some storms in the area). Polish it off with a great Easter Dinner with friends and family -- what an AWESOME weekend!!

Oh, and shorts...actual shorts. No layers upon layers and rain pants because the ground is a swamp. Real, actual, shorts.

I played Saturday and it was one of the worst rounds I've played in about 5 years. Very frustrating. Might be time to visit Mr. Landrum again.

I've still haven't played this year.....:grumpy:

Guess I'm gonna have to make the trip from Richmond to Mt. Sterling to get you out on the course.

I played in our weekly club league yesterday and hit the ball good off the tee but couldn't hit greens in regulation. I was barely off the greens by a few feet in most cases. However, I couldn't chip it worth a darn. I've never been good with that part of my game but last night was a 1 on a 10 scale. Usually my putter will save me on a few holes with some made 10-15 footers but on this day that went south too. Shot 44 on Par 36. My league average last year was 38, so I've got some work to do with my short game.

Does anyone have any tips on what to do to improve a bad chipping game?

I made the mistake of buying the GBB Epic, got it right before I left for a tournament, left it home, got back and tinkered and played with it and couldn't hit it in the fairway. Back to the ole reliable Ping G30 I go.

Also have some Mizuno JPX 900's on order that should be here this week, gonna make the switch to them from the 716 AP2's.

Keep your head down and swing with your arms, should feel natural and not like you have to force it. Also keep your grip pressure light.

That doesn't sound like you. You're going to let your college teammate here in Booneville get ahead of you, lol.

Jahearme, come down to Sag Hollow and try our course out sometime. It's only about an hour drive from Mt Sterling. You may like it enough to play in our invitational the first weekend of June. Eric is the course manager and Randy takes care of the greens, which by the way were redone last year after a chemical company got the wrong chemicals in the wrong bags and destroyed the old greens. The company paid over $300,000 and a Louisville turf company replaced them. They're really nice.

I really do need to get down there and play. Randy invited me several times, but I just haven't been able to work it out.

You all's invitational is always the same weekend as Cynthiana's, so I can't play.

I'll do my best to get down there this summer!

Hit it on the green instead?:idunno:

Sounds good. I'll tell Eric and Randy.

Our clubhouse number is 606-593-4653 if you decide to come down sometime.
