Full Time:

Louisville City FC 3

FC Cincinnati 2

Great first half from Louisville after an early barrage by Cincy yielded a goal in the sixth. Then the Royal Purple held firm despite being a man down the entire second half.

Chandler Hoffman with a hat trick for Louisville. The dude is just in position all the time. He was in the zone.

20k in the stands at Nippert... impressive.

Return game at Slugger Field in June.

Being a soccer novice, I have a question. FCC played a man up the entire second half. Do they track offensive time in the opponents 3rd? Hoping this make sense.

In a lot of leagues they do... the USL is notoriously bad when it comes to reporting even the most basic stats so I don't have any idea as to this game.

Louisville in first and Cincinnati in third five weeks in. Richmond is in fifth and have a game in hand and could be up in third with a win. I wish both MLS and USL used points per game on the standings more given these unbalanced schedules.

Louisville plays an unusual Wednesday game this week, one of only a handful of games that aren't on Saturdays.

Insane game last night at Slugger against Pittsburgh. Two lightning delays so the game that started at 7:30 didn't end until after 11 pm.

Louisville went down 2-1 with 35 minutes to play after a really poor penalty was called on Louisville's goalkeeper, taking City down to ten men and forcing the backup keeper into the match.

Louisville managed to get the equalizer with four minutes to go and salvage a point at home in pouring rain.

Crazy times during the weather delays though. Lots of fun on the concourses.

Things are tight at the top six weeks in. Here's the updated ppg standings after last weekend:

1) Louisville City - 2 ppg (tops on goal differential)

2) Charlotte Independence - 2ppg

3) Rochester Rhinos - 2 ppg

4) NY Red Bulls II - 1.83 ppg

5) Richmond Kickers - 1.67 ppg (ahead on goal differential)

6) FC Cincinnati - 1.67 ppg

7) Charleston Battery - 1.5 ppg

8) Wilmington Hammerheads - 1.33 ppg (ahead on goal differential)

Two midweek games in the Eastern conference that could affect the standings ahead of the weekend: Cincinnati travels to Orlando and Louisville visits Toronto. I expect both teams to grab at least a point on the road tonight.

After last night's games Louisville and Cincinnati are first and second in the overall points standings (but have played more games than anyone else).

Louisville just finished up a stretch of four games in 13 days. Now have nine days off before the first Kings' Cup game against St. Louis on the 14th.

Louisville and Cincinnati next meet on June 25 at Slugger Field in Louisville.
