May 23, 201610 yr ^ After the UC football season FCC is paying to take out the first two rows along the sidelines and the first three in the north end zone. This will allow FCC to add (I think) 5 yards to the width and 10 yards to the length making the field size official size. They are going to go after matches for such teams as the USA national team. They also are signing a 10 year lease. They don't think that being soccer specific is too big of a deal with MLS as long as the other things line up, and watching that awful match at Yankee Stadium Saturday on what appears to be the same sized field for grade school teams, I don't see how playing at Nippert would be an issue. Plus, FCC ownership has already made it known that they have the $150 million expansion fee set aside and are ready to send it when the MLS wants to take it. I heard mid-June for the public sale for the Crystal Palace tickets, BUT I don't think they will have any available. Each season ticket holder can get up to 6 additional seats for that match, but I see all of those seats being taken by season ticket holders. I'm going to buy a few if I can and sell them to people that I know at cost. IF I can get any.

If they are eyeing the MLS, then it will have to be a thought for the future. It is my understanding that a stand alone arena is a requirement for MLS expansion.

Like everything with MLS, it's a rule up until the point it isn't. It was already a stated rule for MLS to have soccer specific stadiums for new expansion in 2013. Then a group came along and said they wanted another team in NY and would pay a $100 million expansion fee. Suddenly the rule wasn't so hard-and-fast any more. Ultimately it'll be something the ownership group will look into (why pay rent when you can get public funds for a new facility?) but playing at Nippert in the short term won't be an obstacle if the MLS wants them in the club.

May 26, 201610 yr Author So Louisville City said yesterday they were having a press conference today for a big announcement. Well it's happened and it wasn't what anyone expected: starting keeper Scott Goodwin is leaving the club at the end of July... to attend Harvard Medical School. Congrats to him. Definitely out of nowhere but I'd always heard he was supposed to be a supremely sharp guy.

Join the march into the stadium. Half of the group starts at Mecklenburg, and the other half starts at the little grassy area in front of the Amazon store at the corner of Calhoun and Market street. They both start marching about 75 minutes before game time, and they meet up next to the new tennis courts next to Nippert, then march in, then wait for everyone and then march to the Bailey.
May 27, 201610 yr We need better smoke too, during the match with Indy 11 we were awful with the smoke, maybe with it being who we played? But the few Indy 11 fans who showed up let one off after their only goal and it was SICK! Getslow, what is the policy at Slugger Field on smoke bombs?
May 27, 201610 yr Who else has season tickets and would like to have a free flag? Offer for season ticket holders only. I ordered a blue and orange checkered flag from three different online stores, and they all look the same, the blue is fine but the orange is a yellowish orange. And with my OCD or whatever, I can't stand the color, even though almost all of the checkered flag at the FCC games have a yellowish orange. So I had a very reasonable custom flag made from a company in Toronto for myself, and I am giving away the other three flags, one already had a 5' pole for it. They only cost about $12 including shipping each so I am not looking to make money or even get my money back. BUT if someone wants to pay me with a hotdog or two (post surgery and can't have beer for another 2 weeks) that would be fine. Also I mentioned smoke. I found out that one needs to sign a waiver with the league to be able to use smoke devices, I am already talking to the powers to be about signing. On a side note, a member of one of the two major support groups messaged me and said "however if you want to donate the smoke for us to use", are they serious? If I am paying good money for smoke devises who in their right mind would think that I would just buy the smoke for others to use and not myself? This is cheapscape talk! That's like you going out and buying hundreds of dolllars in fireworks and just given them to a stanger let off. No way that will ever happen, lol. Also, any other FCC fan Goins down to Lou in about 4 weeks, we have to come up with a tifo to annoy Getslow, maybe a Randy tifo? Or better yet, HEY RANDY, come to the match, we'll pay for your seat to sit next to your buddy Getslow, as long as you agree to annoy the heck out of him non-stop lol
May 27, 201610 yr Author Getslow, what is the policy at Slugger Field on smoke bombs? My guess would be that they're a no-go for away fans. They made all the people in the supporters' section here who handle the smoke bombs take some sort of safety course as a condition of our having it. I'm sure someone with Die Innenstadt has gotten with the club already and should have answers to that. Our guys weren't allowed their drums or the smoke when we went to Cincinnati and I assume some of that is for the same reasons. Just no way to properly supervise visitors.
