March 13, 201610 yr ESPN just said that Vegas has UK as the fourth highest best odds to win the tourney behind Kansas, Michigan State and North Carolina and yet they are a four seed.
March 13, 201610 yr ESPN just said that Vegas has UK as the fourth highest best odds to win the tourney behind Kansas, Michigan State and North Carolina and yet they are a four seed. I heard that and (besides sounding insane to me) it does make me think about how much better Vegas bookmakers would be at seeding a tournament, which, I think, says something about the committee in charge of this.
March 13, 201610 yr UK's non-con SOS is obviously going to be better because they play in a joke of a conference... They load up in the OOC for that reason. Every year, rinse and repeat. You can debate it if you want, but in no way does UK deserve a higher seed than Miami. Stop messing with the narrative of UK's victimhood. It's very important to be a victim.
March 14, 201610 yr Stop messing with the narrative of UK's victimhood. It's very important to be a victim. I understand that it is traumatizing not to get that automatic bye to the Final Four, but come on...
March 14, 201610 yr ESPN just said that Vegas has UK as the fourth highest best odds to win the tourney behind Kansas, Michigan State and North Carolina and yet they are a four seed. Kenpom ratings had Kentucky 8th overall. I think most metrics are probably going to find Kentucky better than where they are. Two years ago when Kentucky was an 8 seed, they were 11th in the Kenpom ratings.
March 14, 201610 yr One has to wonder if you eliminate either one of Kentucky's awful losses (Auburn and Tennessee), just how far up they could have gone. If you eliminate both, my bet is, they probably would've been a 2 seed. The Auburn loss was worse for the resume, but the UT loss was truly unforgivable, given the lead.
March 14, 201610 yr Just wanted to know if UC accepted their NIT bid....oh they were a 9 seed? Ya don't say...
March 14, 201610 yr I think you all just like UK fans got spoiled by having great teams last year. Duke this year like UK is a good team. Which as good teams they do have flaws. But there is no great teams this year, so good teams can make that run even with flaws. It comes down to matchups, which I think Duke matches up well with each team in their region. My fear with Duke is the frontcourt and frontcourt depth. Having to rely on Marshall Plumlee scares me to death. If he gets in foul trouble......
March 14, 201610 yr I think UK was hosed in the seeding and placing process. The interview with Calipari after the SEC tourney championship was prophetic a little. He does not like the after season tournies especially on the day of NCAA selection. He said he expected UK to be a 4 or 5 because he believed their seed had already been assigned before the SEC Champ game and it didn't matter what they did in that game.
March 14, 201610 yr My fear with Duke is the frontcourt and frontcourt depth. Having to rely on Marshall Plumlee scares me to death. If he gets in foul trouble...... Not sure how much longer I can take seeing Chase Jeter come in for 4 minutes to only picks up 3 fouls.
March 14, 201610 yr As a true UK fan I thought they should have been a #3 seed at the highest, given they are playing some of the best basketball in country right you can't overlook the point that they lost to 5 teams that are not in the tourney. Especially the two losses to Tennessee and Auburn and also the loss to Ohio St. on a neutral court. Just go out and play the game if we play our best ball we could win it all, if we don't we could go home the first weekend.
March 14, 201610 yr Not sure how much longer I can take seeing Chase Jeter come in for 4 minutes to only picks up 3 fouls. Kinda of like Skal or Humphries. lol
