St Patty's Day combined with a 9:40 UK tip off, should be an interesting Thursday and Friday.

After today I won't care what our seed is. Starting tomorrow all I care about is who we play next.

People look at the totality of the bracket every year. But in reality it's a 2 game tourney every week. Just need to worry about the present first before worrying about match ups that could or couldn't happen down the road.

Here is something to think about the Cats and Stony Brook. Earlier this season Stony Brook lost in OT at Vandy who beat the Cats at Vandy fairly easily, but they also lost at Western Kentucky.

Common Opponents:

NJIT- Cats won by 30 at home; Stony won by 22 @NJIT

Albany-Cats won by 13 at home; Stony split with Albany

The SEC should move its title game to Saturday if they want it given more weight.

Syracuse.

That seems correct. But not right.

Sort ft of as if ACC had the spots ahead of time.

Who got in with Louisville being out?

I think it was Vandy that snuck in last.

ESPN just said that Vegas has UK as the fourth highest best odds to win the tourney behind Kansas, Michigan State and North Carolina and yet they are a four seed.

And let's remember, Vegas does not set odds purely based on who is the best team with the best chance. Public opinion is a big factor when they set odds on anything. They want to set the money line about 50/50 on either side of the bet. UK's big following influences this.

UK got the Gottfried KOD.

Do you mean "Mr. Basketball" Gottlieb:

Or coach Gottfried:

ESPN Bracketology just had the committee chair on and Andy Katz asked him why Kentucky was #4 seed and A&M a #3 seed, and he basically said it was because the Cats had several losses to teams not even in the field.

AtM lost to USC at home.... Dude really contradicted himself, so NCAA of him

Does make sense.

How often has it been that the champions of two of the big 5 conferences faced each other in the second round of the tournament?

UK got the Gottfried KOD.

Aha, mcpapa, my son just told me it was "Mr. Basketball" Doug Gottlieb who stated UK could win it. I say Gottlieb, Gottfried, whatever it takes. :sarcastic:

Does make sense.

UK has 3 losses outside of the top 100 and one of those is to #102 UCLA. A&M only has 1 loss outside the top 100. So yes, slight edge to the SEC runnerup (A&M) on that one. UK is better in virtually every way of comparing teams except perhaps that one. The Auburn loss is the one that costs UK.
