January 10, 201610 yr If I was Bengals management I would PAY some other team(s) a hefty sum to take 'Out Of Control and No Discipline' Burfict and Jones off my hands (if they would be willing to take them) and follow that by firing 'No Control Of Team' Marv Lewis. They are the two most important players on our defense. We can't afford to lose them. Marvin is the issue, not those two. Have to have some discipline.
January 10, 201610 yr If Lewis does get fired, it will be a situation much like the one that appears to be playing out in Tampa, where they have a coordinator who just had his best year with the offense and when Dalton was out there they were a top 5 offense in the league with also a top 5 defense, at least scoring wise. I know he had some suspect play calls last night, but I love Hue and I don't like the thought of Andy having to learn another new offense heading into next year. Also I would say the odds of Hill fumbling on that last play, were only slightly higher than AJ fumbling the snap. Hell, for all we know if we kneel it AJ could have fumbled the snap and we're in the same position.
January 10, 201610 yr I really have no problem with Marvin running Hill. A first down and the game is over. Remember, Bernard was out but I bet Burkhead would not have fumbled. You would had to kill him first to get that ball. And Yes, I think Marvin should be fired and who ever called that stupid 2 pt conversion. It was all down hill from there. Going for 2 was absolutely correct. The call/execution stunk to high heaven.

January 10, 201610 yr As I think back on the game, I believe the turning point and where the refs and Bengals lost control was the Shazier hit on Bernard. Up to that point, this was looking like a classic battle. That play was an obvious penalty with Shazier lowering his head and leading with his helmet, plus helmet to helmet. The refs don't throw a flag. From that point on, the refs lost control of the game and the Bengals lost control of themselves. 100% correct. They knew it too, after the review it was the fastest explanation in the history of the NFL.

McCarron did in his first attempt what Dalton couldn't do in 3, lead the team to victory, came back from a deficit, made the game winning throw. Then came the Burfict ending. McCarrons comeback gets lost in all of it.

But don't forget his fumbled snap, his fumbled pass with an empty hand, his INT and the other 2 or 3 passes that should've been picked off... He did not play great... He did do enough to win if Hill doesn't fumble though... That is true. If you're hoping AJ will replace AD if AD is healthy, you're in for a major disappointment... AD played at a top 5 QB level this season and was one of the main reasons the Bengals qualified for the playoffs yet again... I think if he doesn't get hurt, he wins the Steelers game that AJ wasn't expecting to play in... And maybe even wins in Denver... It's all speculation though... The only thing that isn't speculation is that AD is the Bengals QB for the next several years barring injury...

Especially adult players. Those two brain dead late penalties weren't play calls, defensive calls. They were player control penalties - both were warranted and if I am in charge of player personel and or writing pay checks, running the Bengals then Burfict and Jones both would soon receive their last one. Both have had and caused trouble for this team before. This time would be the last. Take your losses and cut / release both immediately. M. Lewis, no matter what a person thinks of his coaching is not an adult baby sitter. The Bengal fans, Cincy / NKY area deserves more tan two trouble making rich football players that put self before team. On a side note, I was really impressed with how McCarron pulled things together and fought to bring the team back, take the lead with under 2 min. left. Also, the way A.J. handled his presser in which very predictable ...idiot press members were doing all they could to get him to throw teammates and/or coaches under the bus, he handled it with pure class. McCarron is going to make someone a very good NFL qb one day.

January 11, 201610 yr Not true. The whistle was blown so by rule the Steelers cannot advance the fumble. Oh, I agree, it was the correct call considering the whistle. But if the officials didn't think the hit was a defenseless receiver, but simply a fumble, well the ball was clearly out beforehand is all I was saying.
