I don't know who it was for certain; I remember the element of it being drawn by a Trinity teacher but the name from the story never stuck.

I always thought it was drawn by assistant coach Vince Semary who came to Trinity along with head coach Jim Kennedy for the 1966 season. I think Coach Semary taught art and I believe he runs an art studio in Houston now.

I like these unique helmets. Really makes most of these uniforms and saves them from being boring.

I have always liked the Boone County uniform. Classy and never yielding to updates or adding black as so many programs did through the 90's. The white helmets with the Carolina Blue BC logo has been a constant as well.

 

The helmets said "REBELS" in italicized caps for a good bit of the 90s, and maybe even a bit of the 80s. I think the BC logo only came around at the very tail end of the 90s.

 

Looks like they had the "REBELS" helmets through the 2001 football season and switched to the current design in 2002.

They used the Raiders logo for one year only - 1989.

Fern Creek has had these Charcoal grey home uniforms for 2 years, with Matte Black helmets. The first year we had the Matte helmets didn't use decals, but last year we added the metallic orange and chrome interlocking FC. This year we are changing the facemasks to black.

That white Mason Co uni from 2003 is really SHARP and a nice helmet to go with it.

The only year that Bowling Green has had a logo on it's helmet was 1976. For the bi-centennial, the Purples had the American flag painted water tower that is located on "Hospital Hill" as the logo. Otherwise, it been a clean, gold helmet.

In NKY I always like the Dayton Greendevils. Others that are good: Ryle, Bellevue, NewCath (when they had the horse-shoe logo).

 

Some of the best ever were the Moeller Crusaders of the 1970s/1980s. They are awful now.
