Arizona State... the "new" Arizona State with the streamline pitchfork across the helmet and matte paint.

 

Looks sharp..but I will always think of the simple maroon helmet.

 

Garrard and Russell always had a similar look...now Garrard is the last maroon helmet holding on between the two

Lots of nice unis in the state. I like the CCH Alternate the best followed by the Briar Jumpers collection.

 

Not a fan of the orange on orange and yes that includes when the Bengals do it.

By the way, one of my favorite threads in a while. I haven't seen many of these, especially outside of NKY. The visual of the unis will add to the posts during the season. Don't know why but it will.

JJD- U are correct. The Raider stickers were 89'. Saw the pics you were talking about. Brings back some good memories. Wasn't sure til I saw Jimmy Roberts sticking his hand up to knock down a pass by a CC qb and remembered that was his SR yr. Originally i just saw Bryson Warner and Jeff Lindemann and assumed since Bryson was playing it was our junior yr but he played as a soph. I myself am more a fan of the new Boone uniforms as well as Frankfort. The only thing I would add is bring back the neck rolls! More intimidating!!

 

I was playing at Cov Cath at same time, so it sounds like we chewed some of the same dirt - always a fun opener. Love the neck roll comment - made the LBs look enormous!

I think X unis are really sharp but unfortunately this doesn't get you wins...but they are tite...:thumb:

It's hard for a team to find a helmet decal that is not used in pro or college but when they do I think it tends to make a teams uniform "POP".

They have a new logo for the helmet designed and approved, but there seems to be some question about whether or not they'll pull the trigger on it. I like it, for what it is worth, better than the comet look.

 

Scott's helmet is ridiculous looking.

 

Frankfort's all-whites are a really, really good look.

 

I can't get down with St. Xavier's uniforms....green and yellow just have never done it for me in those traditional shades. Reminds me of R.A. Jones and that "ain't" a good thing. :bunny:

 

The flat gray is gone, and they are switching to metallic white this year with the same eagle wing logo. Uni's stay the same.

It is a maroon and white version of Arizona with the slightest of tweaks.

 

 

I still like it a lot... but it's not scoring a ton of originality points in my book.

When I think of Ashland's helmets, I still think about the style they wore when they won it all in 1990.
