Cov Cath's helmets were mentioned earlier, as well as the fact that they have "COLONELS" written across the back where player names are often written instead, and I definitely like those things about our uniforms, but I would say that many of the changes from the look the uniforms had between the late-80s and the early-00s have taken the uniforms, as a whole, from traditional to milquetoast. I much prefer the white and red stripes down the legs of the pants, as well as the red outline on the lettering to the current design, and I also prefer the darker navy blue helmets and facemasks to the current royal blue helmets and white facemasks. The helmet design is still solid though, in my opinion.

Boone used the Raiders logo one year 1990. Coach Hauck was not a fan of change as many of us know

 

The Raiders logo was '89 season ('89-'90 school year). They switched back to REBELS in '90 ('90-'91 school year). One of the other threads has old school FB pics. You'll find pics from both years there.

Danville is the best in this area, I think. Mercer's uniforms the last couple of years were pretty sweet. Garrard's have been good, as well. Hard to go against the Red, White, & Blue at Lincoln, but they are a distant 3rd in my opinion. I have never been a fan of all black or vegas gold, so that would put Boyle out of the discussion for me. the baby blue in Casey just kind of ruins their scheme IMO.

 

Agree with all there, except for Mercer. Not sure what the stealth gray as a main color was all about, but that was horrible looking. Then, some new logo on the side that I don't think was used by anybody other program at the school.

 

Nothing against Casey, but you said it with the baby blue. The Houston Oilers look is the worst of all time. I'm not even a fan of the baby/carolina blue in UNC's looks unless they use Navy as their main color, or their new black alternates.

 

I know Union County has those same colors, but the football program got rid of the red..inserted black & it helps (if baby blue is in your color scheme, inserting black as a main color might be the only time I'm good with it) some years back.

 

As much as I dislike baby blue as the main color with Red or Navy, I probably love it just as much with the UCLA look. The Gold, plus the navy is one of my all time favorites.

@gchs_uk9 and I had this discussion back in the fall, but Central Hardin's original colors are those of UCLA. It's the main reason they chose the "Bruins" as their nickname prior to opening the school in 1990. Why they took the UCLA gold out of the equation, I have no idea. If I have those as my school colors, I'm coming out looking like UCLA from head to toe...gray mask, navy cursive script on the side...all of it.

I know they're in the midst of working on some "re-branding", but I haven't heard anything in regards to the football helmet logo/decal. I sure hope it's not changing.

JJD- U are correct. The Raider stickers were 89'. Saw the pics you were talking about. Brings back some good memories. Wasn't sure til I saw Jimmy Roberts sticking his hand up to knock down a pass by a CC qb and remembered that was his SR yr. Originally i just saw Bryson Warner and Jeff Lindemann and assumed since Bryson was playing it was our junior yr but he played as a soph. I myself am more a fan of the new Boone uniforms as well as Frankfort. The only thing I would add is bring back the neck rolls! More intimidating!!

I like how Bellevue added the yellow pants. Not sure if it was just this past year. Then again the all black is pretty sharp as well.

They have a new logo for the helmet designed and approved, but there seems to be some question about whether or not they'll pull the trigger on it. I like it, for what it is worth, better than the comet look.

 

Scott's helmet is ridiculous looking.

 

Frankfort's all-whites are a really, really good look.

 

I can't get down with St. Xavier's uniforms....green and yellow just have never done it for me in those traditional shades. Reminds me of R.A. Jones and that "ain't" a good thing. :bunny:

This has been my favorite uniform posted so far. I love the mostly solid color (Helmet, jersey, pants) with one accent color look.

I agree somewhat. The less yellow, the better they look. I love X's all white uni's but hate the all yellow.

Just a difference in taste... I like the stealth gray - it wasn't a main color, just a pant color. As far as the logo, I don't think the school itself has ever settled on a logo. Some have the sword, some have the M like the Tennessee Titans logo.

Garrard's look is classic. I almost wish they would copy the USC look from head to toe. I mean, they could really take it old school USC in terms of keeping the 'decal-less' helmet (as they already do) like USC had back in the days of OJ and before.
