Gay Kindle Commercial

I'll never understand this. What's the big deal? If you don't like it, don't buy products from them.

You have a right to your opinion. But I'm confused why you wouldn't just email your sentiments to them? What is the significance of the phone conversation?

You can't guarantee that any will answer you in an email. Thanks for phone #. I'll call and update you all.

GetSlow, I'll do you one better: I don't know 10 people under the age of 45 that oppose gay marriage.

Must be geography or who one hangs around with. My numbers are exactly the opposite. Interesting.

No question that you and Mentch are hanging around two different groups.

There are homosexuals in the world. It's a fact of life. There isn't anything illegal about being gay. They probably like to read too. And they have trouble with the glare from the sun, just like you. How dare them.

I'd be willing to bet a good amount of money that the email would get deleted within seconds. Some Customer service rep making $9 an hour doesn't care you don't like the commercial. They would quickly be onto the next one.

I hope the next commercial has a woman married to a horse. She can love what she wants, of course.

I think the commercial is very cute and clever. good for Amazon!

On Netflix I have been watching The West Wing and I came across this clip while watching yesterday. It made me think of this thread simply because it addresses a main objection to homosexuality. This may not be your main objection to homosexuality but it really makes you think a little. A lot of people pick and choose what they want to pull from the Bible.

I have no problem with the commercial, I think it was well done for the market segment they target. I also have no problem with those who want to voice an opposing view. I don't think Amazon is making it harder to voice an opposing viewpoint in this situation, I believe it's just a product of how companies operate anymore. Automation and lack of human contact is now the norm.

When chik-filet (SP?) was on the other side of the issue people applauded the liberals in this country for protesting, organizing a "Kiss-in" and hurling insults at the President of the company. I simply wanted to call and complain, was not hateful or damning. But I am not afraid to discuss the issue.

I have not watched the ad but I am sure it will not bother me, but you do bring up a solid point here. It is kind of a double standard.

Go get em Khalid, help save us all. You be the spokesperson for the ill-informed. What an honorable cause.

As a sobering thought, a couple of years ago I lost my parter of 20 years to cancer, and if not for the loving kindness of understanding people (family, friends, lawyers, medical staff, funeral director, cemetery, church minister, the dry cleaners, and my barber) the red tape that I had to walk through during such a horrible time was not nearly as impenetrable as it could have been. I was one of the lucky ones. I've heard stories of some not so lucky. There are good understanding people in this world. Reality proves that the law needs to catch up. Sadly, a lot of average everyday people need to too.

Thankfully there's been signs that they are.

We've come a long way. I still remember that scared little teenaged boy who wondered how in the heck he was going to live in such a cruel world.

It's called knowing, loving, and believing in yourself, and being selective about who you call your friends.

I'm sure glad that this little boy, who sometimes wondered if taking his own life was the solution, eventually found out... "that It gets better".

For you Khalid, I sure hope that you never have a child that turns out to be gay. How sad it would be for them to not have an understanding parent.

There again, I was lucky that my Super-Catholic parents just let love rule.

Thank you for this opportunity to by chance help enlighten.

Talk about petty. I Amazon wants to pay big money for a commercial and ten a tv network agrees that it can be aired then I see nothing wrong with them having their own opinion.

So let me ask you this. Why exactly did you call to complain? Because its against the bible? If that's the case then sinning is also against the bible but yet there are thousands of commercials that you watch that show signs of sin, but I doubt you call those companies to complain.
