Well, this thread is about Highlands' schedule in 2013, so how about this...

 

It appears that at the present time Highlands has one spot remaining on the 2013 varsity schedule, to replace the Boyle County game. Perhaps someone can post some updated information about this matter once Highlands and another program have agreed to play in 2013. Otherwise, I don't think there is really anything else that is constructive for anyone (myself included) to post in this thread.

 

I look forward to hearing about how the final schedule looks, and there appear to be some interesting matchups in store for Highlands this year, most notably games against Warren Central, John Hardin, Bryan Station, Elder and of course CovCath.

Don't forget Paducah Tilghman on the road as well. The open date on the schedule will soon be filled.

I agree. I was just trying to find out which week was open in hopes that it might match up with one of Colerain's three open dates.

PS: as far as the comments on the troubles some Colerain grands had after graduation...well, I'll just say "Stay classy Highlands!"

Many of us are just regular fans. I assure you though, coaches and administrators do read this board on a regular basis. Many folks you think are fans, are really coaches playing dumb.

 

And for the record, my provocative tone on this thread was intended to get specific conditioning program information. Obviously, HHS is doing things that other programs are not. I find it mind boggling that HHS could handle Scott County so easily. Especially considering what SC accomplished this season.

 

Scott County is not Ryle or SK or Boone. They are about 50% larger by male enrollment that those three schools ( 3 times the size of HHS) and they do not have another HS within 20 miles of their campus, so they have no competition for athletes. They are the ONLY 6A school with the potential to challenge T or X.

 

Before scheduling HHS, anybody in NKy 6A would first have to concern themselves with being able to be competitive with CCH and Scott County. With relatively new programs at Brossart, Walton and Cooper, the pool of athletes is just getting way too thin.

 

 

Oh for the love of Pete, it's pretty simple there my friend. HHS is just plain and simple better. That's it. Better. There! No more accusations, no more labeling. Just better. Now if you want to add something positive behind better, then have at it. But really, like others said, if there was some top secret formula or training, why would anyone reveal it. And hence, it9our top secret formula) hasn't been.

 

This has been fun reading though. It really does have a similar tone to it though. Just saying!

Sure sounds like another Neer fan that would make some outrageous posts! If only the program could back its claims!

LN - first and foremost, thank you for the answer to the question. Unfortunately, because it is week 0, I believe that is the final week of scrimmages in Ohio so there is no chance of getting an Ohio team to fill that spot, sadly enough.

 

Secondly, and as importantly, if you feel Highlands is too chicken "you know what" to play Colerain, just say so. You don't need to come up with all these other excuses as to why Highlands won't schedule the Cardinals annually. Really, it's ok. If my program was winless against an opponent, I'd want them to strive to improve and eventually "climb that mountain", so to speak. You clearly don't. You want to talk about "changing personnel" and "defensive schemes"...that's fine, and it's also garbage.

 

You don't need to do any of that. Multiple different defensive fronts have had success beating Colerain. It's about ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL and DISCIPLINE. If these are two things that escape the coaches and kids at Highlands, I can certainly understand your argument.

 

Good luck finding an opponent in Week 0. I know how difficult it is trying to fill a schedule when no one wants to play you.

If you don't see or want to admit the validity of the points I raised, that's your call. But my points are valid and are not garbage. Defending the option is no doubt assignment football; but the reads are different; the assignments are different. I assume you played the game and if so, you know my points are valid.

 

Has anyone ever heard an opposing coach ever make a comment even resembling that Highlands players don't have discipline or execute? I haven't. To the contrary, all I've ever heard from opposing coaches are great compliments about Highlands' team discipline and execution. So, in my opinion, it's not a lack of discipline and execution causing Highlands to not have Colerain on its schedule.

 

And please, stop the name calling. You diminish your reputation and credibility greatly on here when you do so. Tough to want to carry on an intelligent discussion with someone that resorts to name calling.

Trying to get the discussion back on track, is the schedule below correct? If so, appears Week 0 or Week 7 are the open and available dates for The HHS Stairway to Seven. (Not considering whether other, more complex changes might be possible (e.g., move Campbell to Week 0 if they don't have a game and have Week 1 open, etc.)).

 

I am confident that Dale would prefer NOT to fill the Week 7 slot and play 10 straight weeks (with a Week 0 open date), but if he had to do so to find a qualilty opponent, having District games against traditionally less demanding Harrison Co. and Holmes on either side of Week 7 might make it easier to swallow. A Week 0 open date might make for some SERIOUS practices following the Trinity scrimmage.
