Just to clarify, I do not think that the reason Highlands and Colerain are no longer playing has anything to do with what Colerain alumni have or have not done... every school has its share of alumni who have encountered problems, and this has nothing to do with the school... my point was that the reason that CF cited for HHS not playing Colerain is about as baseless and stupid as the reason I gave... Neither reason has any foundation or basis in reality.

 

The reason LN gave for why Highlands is scheduling programs like Elder and not Colerain is most certainly the right one... Someone can like the reason or not like the reason, but it is what it is.

Okay, just like CF...you got us! We talk smack and we're scared to schedule them! But we will get someone to schedule us! I don't think we'll cancel the season.

 

Even though you have called us out, ya know there is one major difference between us and you...we are backing away from schools two classes above us. Your son's team won't play schools two classes below them, even with his spectacular gains (unless you're forced to).

 

So our turn for questions...why won't your 6A team play Highlands? Why doesn't your team play any GCL teams? Why does your 6A school schedule 1A and 2A schools? You never answer questions, so I don't expect anything different this time. But I'd love to hear your answers.

Many of us are just regular fans. I assure you though, coaches and administrators do read this board on a regular basis. Many folks you think are fans, are really coaches playing dumb.

 

And for the record, my provocative tone on this thread was intended to get specific conditioning program information. Obviously, HHS is doing things that other programs are not. I find it mind boggling that HHS could handle Scott County so easily. Especially considering what SC accomplished this season.

 

Scott County is not Ryle or SK or Boone. They are about 50% larger by male enrollment that those three schools ( 3 times the size of HHS) and they do not have another HS within 20 miles of their campus, so they have no competition for athletes. They are the ONLY 6A school with the potential to challenge T or X.

 

Before scheduling HHS, anybody in NKy 6A would first have to concern themselves with being able to be competitive with CCH and Scott County. With relatively new programs at Brossart, Walton and Cooper, the pool of athletes is just getting way too thin.

As for the bolded area...with an attitude like that, you're right...no other 6A program will compete with them. BG beat X and Cooper played with BG. HHS smashed SC and if it weren't for a 4th qtr breakdown, T loses to SC. I think you're throwing in the towel way to early! You act like they are a team of gods. They are very good, but not unbeatable. They had a great run, but they were obviously a completely different team without Mr. Quick. We've heard your lame excuses about SC and have told you why it's a completely different logistic when you talk about them.

This proves the point we have all been telling you for a long time. If you don't play good teams during your season, you're going to create a false confidence and when you see a good team down the road, you will get overwhelmed and get a perception that teams are better than they really are because you have never seen anything like that. My point, you were amazed with SC's team speed. HHS and I'm sure Cov Cath, BG, Boyle, John Hardin, T,X, and I'm sure many others say that SC had a couple fast guys as their ball handlers. That's it. They aren't amazed by their team speed!

 

As far as 6A...Camp Co got drummed by Cov Cath this year and guess who is on their schedule for next year??

I've never whined once about it. You're starting to hear things. You make all kinds of accusations and assumptions on here. Do you have first hand knowledge of HHS turning down games or running from competition like SK does? Or are you just taking CF's word for it? I could say "we just got off the phone with Colerain...yea, they won't play us!" Ha ha! You're funny! Aren't we the team that plays a GCL team every year? Again I'll ask, do you?

 

Exposing athletic short comings...Again, play them more often, get exposed to them and you start to realize that it's not "Superior athletes". You're just not used to seeing them. 6a in NkY is so bad right now that you think the rest of the state's good teams are untouchable. When you play bad 6a schools and the rest are 1 and 2a, you are going to get shell shocked when you finally see a decent team!

 

Man, I'm glad you weren't my dad. I would have never made it in sports or in life with an attitude like this. Divert or remove yourself from competition and cry about how others are better than you and that you have no chance and get nothing out of comparing yourself to them. I wouldn't have made it very far.

Jolmstead, you have proven many points on this thread. Among them, you know very little about football in general, you know almost nothing about Highlands football, you know nothing about what takes place in scheduling among high school programs locally, you have no concept of how to build a schedule to help a team develop, you do not understand that there is a difference between having fast players, team speed, and playing fast, and you do not have a grasp of where your team that you root for is athletically or as a team. Perhaps most importantly, you have proven that you have no credibility nor accountability after making false accusations and not taking responsibility for your actions. You were trying to learn Highlands training methods. Really! Perhaps you could have said something like, 'what are Highlands training methods. They seem to be getting good results and I am curious what they do differently than my sons program.

 

Be a better example for you're son.
