The sarge
Great run by the Lady Wildcats. Great run for the Lady Wildcats. I thought this was one one they should win having seen Pikeville earlier this year. Any game details?
Mack The Knife
Great run for the Lady Wildcats. I thought this was one one they should win having seen Pikeville earlier this year. Any game details? Heard Hannah Dossett was robbed of a 2 run homer that would have put GC up 6-5. Seng homered in the 2nd to give GC a 4-3 lead. FarBeyondDriven
Pikeville made the plays they needed to make and Gallatin did not. Gallatin hit well the whole tournament, including this game, but the Wildcats committed a few costly errors that eventually led to Pikeville runs. Biggest play of game was in bottom 5th with Pikeville up 5-4, 1 out, Gallatin hitting with runner on 1B. Gallatin freshman Hannah Dossett hit a line drive to CF that appeared to be a HR, but the centerfielder jumped backwards, making the catch as she was in the air and fell through the temporary fence in the process. She basically left her feet, caught the ball while airbourne, and landed out of play. Umpires ruled it a catch, erasing what looked to be a Gallatin 6-5 lead. May have been the correct call, I don't know. Gallatin left 2 runners on base in the bottom of the 7th to end the game. Congrats to Pikeville on advancing.
