Quarterbacks

Beau Buchanan, Bowling Green (9-2, advanced to the Second Round)

First Round: Aside from a long TD strike to Scotty Brown, Buchanan was in game manager mode versus Christian County. He finished with 169 yards and 2 touchdown passes.

Joey Cambron, Daviess County (6-5, lost in the First Round)

First Round: Cambron's high school career ended on a sour note in Daviess County's 33-7 loss to Ballard. It was tough sledding all night for the Panthers’ offense, but a second quarter fight resulted in the ejections of some key personnel that only made Cambron's job that much harder. He finished a dismal 9 of 38 for 123 yards and an interception.

Season to date: 203 of 361 for 2,910 yards and 35 with 14 ints.

Gavin Spurrier, South Warren (11-0, advanced to the Second Round)

First Round: Spurrier did a little damage and called it a night early against Apollo. He was his usual, efficient self with two touchdown throws on 8 of 10 passing.

Season to date: 129 of 182 for 1,863 yards and 32 TDs with 3 ints.

Braxton Ratliff, Ashland (10-1, advanced to the Second Round)

First Round: As was the case with so many players on this list, the full arsenal of Ratliff's abilities was not required for the Tomcats to roll over their opponent in the first round of the playoffs. He threw for 138 yards and 2 TDs, and added 44 yards with his legs.

Season to date: 105 of 164 for 1,750 yards and 18 TDs with 4 ints. ; 86 rushes for 664 yards and 6 TDs

Chase Estep, Corbin (10-1, advanced to the Second Round)

Season to date: 120 of 169 for 2,211 yards with 29 TDs and 4 ints. ; 64 rushes for 380 yards and 7 TDs

Cameron Jones, Frederick Douglass (11-0, advanced to the Second Round)

First Round: Big, chunk plays were the name of the game for Jones and FD in their 42-8 win over PRP. None were bigger than his 90 yard hook-up for a score with Haiden Hunt. Jones only connected on eight throws, but they went for 234 yards and 3 TDs.

Season to date: 126 of 171 for 2,534 yards and 30 TDs with 5 ints.

Will Warren, Owensboro (9-2, advanced to the Second Round)

Season to date: 180 of 301 for 2,795 yards and 33 TDs with 10 ints.

Running Backs

Wandale Robinson, Western Hills (7-4, lost in the First Round)

First Round: Robinson and Lawrence County's Noah West put on a head to head show for the ages. Unfortunately for Wandale, his team couldn't overcome the Bulldogs’ rushing onslaught. He did leave us with a performance to remember, though. In his typical Wandale-esque fashion, he posted 361 yards from scrimmage (129 rushing, 232 receiving) and 4 TDs. Get a load of these career numbers - 6,796 rushing yards, 1,758 receiving yards, 131 combined touchdowns, 3 passing TDs, 7 kick return TDs, 245 tackles, and 9 interceptions (pick-six's). The only missing ingredient from his resume is team success. But make no mistake about it, Robinson is the most explosive, impactful player in Kentucky. Plus, he's committed to UK. At this point, it would be a huge upset for him to not win the award.

Season to date: 206 carries for 1,973 yards and 30 TDs ; 31 catches for 725 yards and 11 TDs ; 2 TD passes ; 2 kick return TDs ; 119 tackles (12 TFL) ; 3 interceptions (1 pick-six) ; 6 forced fumbles (1 fumble recovery for a TD)

Casey McGinness, Covington Catholic (11-0, advanced to the Second Round)

Season to date: 190 carries for 1,726 yards and 27 TDs ; 17 catches for 257 yards and 3 TDs
