The Highlands Bluebirds have been playing some good basketball lately.

The Bluebirds (5-8) won their third in a row Saturday over the host Dayton Greendevils, 55-47. They moved to 1-1 in 36th District action.

Balanced scoring has been key for the Bluebirds’ success lately. They had three players reach double-digit scoring. Kenny Ball led the way with 19 points. Junior Bo Hebel followed with 14 points and Justin Weyer scored 13.

Highlands hits the road for three straight this week. The Bluebirds travel to Falmouth to face the Pendleton County Wildcats (8-10) on Tuesday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Much closer than many Bluebird fans thought it would be. Dayton was within 3 late in the fourth quarter.

Kenny Ball with 19 - 5 buckets from way down town for the "All Beef Eater team" 3 point "specialist".

Justin Weyer added 14 on three 3 pointers and some free throws late in the game.

HHS travels to Pendelton on Tuesday going for 4 in a row.

Yes indeed. I saw another thread where a poster said "highlands can name the score"

Really nice to see the Devils playing better ball. They let a few slip away earlier this season and seem to be coming together finally.

I know losing a game usually does not call for congrats but I do want to congratulate Billy Rogg who is doing a really good job with the Dayton team. He works very hard and has kept the players working hard even when they started the season 0 and whatever it was. He really is putting effort into building the program as he is heavily involved from grades 3 on up. :thumb:

I agree wholeheartedly. From my experience, at Sports of All Sorts and at a number of other facilities and tournaments, I have not seen any other high school head coaches as involved in the

elementary and middle school programs as he is. I hope he is given enough time at the helm to see the fruits of his labors, because he is truly trying to grow the program from the bottom up.

Kudos!
