Highlands Linebacker core better be ready to tackle, they're going to get plenty of action this week. Looks like #17 Abner, will be playing the outside linebacker for the Birds. He's a good size player and has a family history of Bluebird athletes.

Will "The Cannon" be in operation Thursday night? If so, will someone please warn the youngmen from Fort Mitchell about it. "The Cannon" is such a psychological advantage for the Birds. It should be a great football game. 2007 Class (AAA) and Class (AAAA) State Champs. There's going to be a lot of speed and talent on the field friday night. IMO the Bluebirds Defense is to deep and strong for any team in the state. H-33 LC-10

He's just flat out a great-hardnose football player. He may have played in the NKYFL, But I think it was for Bellevue or Dayton?

I would like to comment on the play of Dayton Freshman Chris Pompilio, Man, he can play some Defense. I feel he's going to be one of the best in NKY in 2009. Good Luck Pomp!!

After the way that Cody Rosenhagen played Defense of Lineman last night , Its a little obvious he is 1st Team Allstate and Headed for a nice College career. Good luck Birds! Win State-in-08!!

Conner had a great year. But the coach of the year, hands down should be Highlands Bluebirds coach Dale Mueller. Not only is he one of the best coaches in the state, great role model for his players, he has complete respect and control of everyone around him. How many coaches do you know that gets out on the field and runs punishment laps with his players, and if I did'nt know better or not I thought I seen him smiling as he was running funs-n-bunches. Great Job, It makes you proud to be from Northern Ky to see programs like HHS!!!

It's good to see Highlands with everyone back and healthy. Now they can just oil the machine and keep it rolling.

Look for the Wildcats to win again in a hard fought battle. Newport's is starting to play more aggressive on Defense. And, they're really starting to come together on Offense. The two Cody's (Short and Collins) are physical and hard nose football players and with the speed of Andrew Thomas, Willie Price, and Quinn Mcday (all 4.5 40's) they are quick! I would have to say this years team is a lot stronger offensively. Have you seen their passing game lately? Division I Quarterback prospect Tong Guidugli has to be one of the best in the state, with about 6 recievers and 5 running backs, Man they're fun to watch. IMO the 2007 Defense of backs would have never stopped them. Of course 2007 never had much of a passing attack, with about 6 attempts per game. It was just Conner, Cecil and then Conner again. But I guess you dont have to pass the ball, if the oppositon could'nt stop the run. But, the 2008 Defense would have swarmed and shut down last years conservative attack. Better special return teams. 2007 may have had the edge in the field goal department, But no one has stopped the Birds thus far, so Rosenhagen hasn't had the chance to show off his range and talents.

Congrats to the Newport Wildcats! The Wildcats have great athletes and it seems as if the coaching staff is starting to realize that fact, and starting to utilize the boys. Look for the Wildcats to really put it together and win big games down the stretch. Maybe 2nd or 3rd round of State Play-offs.

Lexington Catholic has their starting Quaterback returning, should be a good test for the Bluebirds Pass Defense, (linebackers and secondary). But of course good luck getting the passes off, the best pass Def is a good pass rush. I look for a hard hitting football game. It's amazing the offensive of weapons the Birds have. Last year it was Conner and then Cecil and then some more Conner, very seldom did they throw the ball. This years team has so many weapons the opposing teams are going to have a lot of trouble stopping them. Conner, Crawford, Head, Fennel, and the Alford kid runs the ball hard too! Not to mention the passing arsenal TG is remarkable and he has at least 6 or 7 targets. They are a fundamentally sound high school football team and they are fun to watch play. But they are far from winning another state championship. The secondary will have to get better and also their line backers need to tackle better, and could they really stop a powerhouse rushing attack? Good Luck boys and keep working hard, the schedule is about to get a little tougher!

That's good to hear that about the Alford kid. With the physical Defense of play by Rosenhagen, Roller, Head, and now Alford. You can believe there will be some head hunting going on out there. Good Job and keep working hard!
