Beechwood Highlands Newport Conner

Josh Connor has to be one of the best players in the state. I was amazed to see this youngmans performance against a program such as Beechwood. No disrespect to the Tigers, the Beechies have at least 5 DI players. It just seems to me that the Connor kid is a Bull. It looks as if he's about 6'1" 210lbs runs about a 4.5 and a flat out stud. Tony Guidugli he has always been a good QB with a strong arm. When you can roll out to either side and throw the ball 60-70 yards on the run, and hit your targets. It's pretty impressive to see a high school athlete perform like that. It's obvious he's a Div I prospect. The one big thing different from last years team is the Bird's have a major passing team, throwing to about 7 different targets When as last year they had Connor and Cecil's running attack and really not much of a passing game. It's going to be a lot harder for opponents to stop the 1-2 punch of the Bird's this year! Defense of wise the Bird's have 5 out of their 8 inside players back from 2007. And an infantry of players competing for those other three spots, Martin, Newman, Abner, and Alford. Also to add to All-State DB Austin Collingsworth in the secondary, the Bird's will have Josh Connor back there with him, I can't believe the way these youngmen hit! good Luck Boys! Bring one home!

Two of the top programs in the state. Should be some great action, It kind of gives me the butterflies.

Just wondering who looks good for the Birds, who's hustling and who's doing all of the hitting. And, do they have any players ready to step up and fill the openings?

Congrats! To the Highlands Bluebirds. But after these next two seasons, I really look for the Birds to get alot more State wide and National attention.

What a night for the NKYFL. It was just amazing seeing all the great athletes, coaches and a life time of friends. At one time, I looked up at the 500 plus people there and I noticed there were 1 or 2 Professional or Divsion I players of some kind at every single table, and they all had participated in the league. I was never so proud to have been involved in the league before. Congrats! and Hat's Off to all of the HOF"ers and Scholarship award winners, and to the NKYFL as a whole!!

What are some of the high schools these youngmen are attending?

Look for Donnie Brown to have a really good year on the Defense of Line for the Bluebirds.

With the addition of Brandon Tucker, Arkansas Brewer, and Brandon Alford. I look for them to be deep and strong. I am pretty sure they have every player back from last years team?

Justin Sherlock from Dayton should have another good year at QB!

They say Nik Brown is as good if not a little tougher.

It just gives me Butterflies even thinking about it. I could'nt imagine what it feels like being a player. Especially after this dead period. There is going to be some hungry youngmen out there!
